Episode 3 of "Our Movie" kicks off with a nostalgic flashback to the pivotal audition for Je-ha's maiden cinematic venture, titled "The Lonely People." Da-eum, the front-runner among hopefuls, stunningly withdraws her candidacy at the last moment, paving the way for Seo-yeong to secure the role alongside Je-ha. Unbeknownst to all, Da-eum's absence stems from a hospital admission, her health taking an unexpected turn.
In the present timeline, Je-ha delivers the thrilling news to Da-eum that she has, in fact, landed a part in the film. Desperate for a place to stay, she seeks refuge with her friend, Kwak Gyo-young, whose mother, Mrs. Kwak, discreetly keeps her father, Dr. Lee, informed of her whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Jung-woo's agent boasts of Seo-yeong's acquisition of the lead role but cautions him against stirring up any controversy. It transpires that Seung-won, in a bid for publicity, prematurely disclosed to the press that Seo-yeong was in negotiations for the starring part. Da-eum, understandably upset, finds solace in Je-ha's reassuring presence. She demands a written agreement, vowing with unwavering determination not to backtrack this time. Her steadfastness piques Je-ha's curiosity, who seemingly has no recollection of her audition for "The Lonely People."
Je-ha lays down his conditions: Da-eum must not pass away before the film's completion, and her illness must remain concealed. He fears his reputation would be tarnished if perceived as exploiting her condition for cinematic realism. Da-eum, on her part, has a stipulation of her own – she opposes his decision to omit the romantic subplot from the remake. She firmly believes that the male lead harbors deep affection for the female lead, despite abandoning her to her fate. Je-ha, influenced by his personal history – his father prioritizing a shoot over his mother's worsening health – disagrees vehemently.
Despite their differing views, the two eventually ink the agreement, their collaborative journey, though rocky, officially underway.Je-ha is taken aback when Seo-yeong expresses a preference for Jung-hwa, the vain and self-centered second lead character, sparking a fleeting thought in her mind if the portrayal bore any resemblance to her own personality. To counteract Seung-won's critical article, she defiantly announces to the media that she has embraced the supporting role, a revelation that incenses Agent Go.
Seung-won, too, objects to the creative decision to remove the love line. He argues that audiences crave fantasy, not stark realism. Je-ha counters by insisting they tune in primarily for the lead actress's captivating performance.
Da-eum and Gyo-young celebrate Da-eum's role acquisition by filming her rehearsals, their joy palpable. From afar, Dr. Lee watches anxiously as Da-eumpretends to stumble, his heart racing. She eagerly shares her thrilling news with him, but her smile fades upon encountering his disapproval. He warns that the impending stress could curtail her lifespan, to which she responds by preferring a fulfilling, albeit potentially shorter, life over a long, melancholic existence.
At an investor meeting, questions arise regarding the casting decisions. Je-ha deftly spins the narrative, portraying it as a daring move where a rookie replaces a superstar for a highly sought-after role, while still retaining the superstar's presence in the film. He asserts confidently that Han can withdraw funding if dissatisfied with the test shoot, adding that Je-ha intends to assemble a top-tier crew, a prospect that leaves Seung-won fraught with worry.
The cinematographer, Cheol-min, initially balks at the script's grim tone. Je-ha presents him with a storyboard, a masterpiece of artistic vision that convincingly wins him over. Despite Cheol-min's packed schedule, Je-ha remains unperturbed, revealing that the remake itself operates on a tight timeline.
Seo-yeong and Da-eum's chance encounter blossoms into camaraderie, only to be abruptly disrupted by Agent Go, who reprimands Seo-yeong for going rogue. As Go scolds, Da-eum discretely hides, suffering a seizure. Seo-yeong assertively sets Go straight and searches frantically for Da-eum, eventually rushing her to the hospital. Da-eum implores Seo-yeong to keep her condition a secret, piquing Seo-yeong's curiosity.
Dr. Kim warns Da-eum of the perils ahead, but her determination remains unshaken. Spotting Je-ha, Da-eum beams and rushes towards him, while Dr. Kim watches with a sorrowful gaze.
Rehearsals resume between Seo-yeong and Da-eum, with the latter displaying evident awkwardness. Seo-yeong reassuringly vows to keep Da-eum's secret safe, fostering a bond of trust. Meanwhile, Gyo-young stumbles upon a funeral director's business card while cleaning, her expression darkening momentarily before she rallys to cheer up a nervous Da-eum.
It's D-Day at last. Seo-yeong hesitates to inquire about Je-ha's awareness of the impending crisis but ultimately decides against it. As the cameras roll, Da-eum delivers an impeccable performance. Seung-won's remarks about the ultimatum cast a shadow over Da-eum's spirits, fearing that her involvement might jeopardize the remake. Je-ha reassures her, noting that he bears an equal share of the responsibility.
During post-production, Da-eum's realistic portrayal captivates everyone, leaving the investors thoroughly convinced and green-lighting the film's release. Overwhelmed with joy, Da-eum hugs Je-ha, playfully shaking him, while he finds the whole situation amusing. Embarrassed by her exuberance, she recalls an undecided location scene where the lead changes her mind about where she wishes to reside. She leads Je-ha to the hospital's sky bridge, explaining that the view from up there feels like an attempt to outpace death itself. In a moment of vulnerability, she inadvertently reveals her earlier plans of ending her life before the remake offered her a renewed purpose. Je-ha instinctively reaches out to pat her head but stops himself abruptly. Da-eum swiftly shifts the conversation to lighter tones.
Meanwhile, Seo-yeong's market value plummets in the wake of the casting announcement. Agent Go, frustrated by her stubbornness, decides to sign Da-eum instead. When Da-eum declines the offer, suspecting Je-ha's involvement, Agent Go is incensed and warns Da-eum not to trust him.
In a cliffhanger ending to Our Movie Episode 3, Da-eum stumbles upon an intimate moment between Seo-yeong and Je-ha, sharing a kiss.
