Episode 5 of "Our Movie" kicks off with a nostalgic flashback to the moment that was never meant to be: Seo-yeong's anticipated first kiss with Je-ha, which unfortunately never transpires as Je-ha turns her down, revealing her unrequited affection. During the solemn ceremony of Du-young's funeral, an unwelcome guest arrives in the form of Jin-yeo, prompting Je-ha to reminisce about the uproar she caused at his mother's funeral after her affair with Du-young came to light. In contrast, Seo-yeong stands by his side during his father's funeral, but Je-ha, determined not to emulate his father's footsteps, rejects her advances.
After being blackmailed by paparazzi, Seo-yeong apologizes for making Je-ha uncomfortable with her feelings. In a harsh revelation, Je-ha admits to exploiting her affection for the sake of the movie, justifying his actions by claiming he's rectifying the scandal. Later, Je-ha dismissively labels his kiss with Da-eum as merely a rehearsal, offering her acting tips before sternly warning her against using him in such a manner. A flustered Da-eum, apologizing hastily, scurries away.
Caught in the downpour, Da-eum falls ill, prompting a panic-stricken Gyu-young to rush her to the hospital. There, Dr. Lee practically confines her. He later confronts Je-ha, accusing him of irresponsibility for exploiting and mocking terminally ill patients.
As Da-eum awakens, she is haunted by memories of her deceased friend, Min-jeong, wishing she had utilized her time more wisely instead of being confined to a hospital bed. With her father away, Da-eum attempts a daring escape, failing to reach out to her friend. Disguising herself as a doctor, she narrowly avoids detection until she bumps into Seo-yeong, who comes to her aid. The actress has come to the hospital seeking answers about Da-eum's illness from a tight-lipped Dr. Kim. Dr. Lee almost intercepts them, but Seung-hee, Min-jeong's mother, notices and diverts his attention, saving them from discovery.
Dr. Lee's haunting words resonate deeply within Je-ha, evoking memories of his ailing mother. His anxiety spikes when Da-eum fails to respond to his calls throughout the day. Upon discovering her whereabouts at Seo-yeong's, he springs into action without delay.
Concurrently, Seo-yeong grapples with unraveling Da-eum's mysterious ailment, only to encounter evasiveness in return. Je-ha's unexpected arrival exacerbates her confusion, prompting her to demand explanations. She resents his secrecy, yet he emphasizes their non-romantic relationship.
Inside the car, Je-ha persists in taking Da-eum to the hospital, but she steadfastly refuses. Relenting, he directs her instead to his family home. Da-eum expresses remorse over their kiss, but Je-ha encourages her to refrain from apologies and trust in her actions. He departs, inadvertently leaving behind groceries and even suggesting nearby dining spots via text.
Elsewhere, Agent Go harbors hopes of securing Seo-yeong as the lead for Director Park's upcoming film, believing it to be the sole remedy for her tarnished reputation. However, the actress, weary of compromise, rejects this path. She indulges in alcohol, openly rebukes Park for his questionable decisions, and storms away. Desperate and convinced of her resistance, Agent Go resolves to dig up dirt on Da-eum as leverage to coerce her into signing with her agency.
In another corner, preparations for the remake involve a location scouting meeting. Je-ha's mind constantly wanders to Da-eum, engrossed in household chores and unable to respond to his texts. Subtly, Seung-won attempts to caution Je-ha, citing a rival director's scandal involving romantic entanglements with both his female leads.
Later, Je-ha checks in on Da-eum just as her timer goes off. He takes charge, setting her alarms on his phone and escorting her to dinner. Eager to accompany him on location scouting to delve deeper into her character, Da-eum encounters rejection from Je-ha, who fears it could jeopardize her health. She pouts in response, unaware of his covert investigation into her illness.
Nonetheless, Da-eum arrives, impeccably prepared, all thanks to Jun-byoung. As the day's filming draws to a close, Jun-byoung, under the influence of alcohol, confides in Assistant Director Hong, revealing that Je-ha had instructed him to bring Da-eum along. Soon after, Jun-byoung succumbs to the spirits and begins to flirt playfully with Hong, much to her astonishment. Meanwhile, Je-ha feigns ignorance regarding the revelation, yet Da-eum is deeply moved.
They venture to Gyu-won's bookstore, the female protagonist's haven, where Je-ha is taken aback by Da-eum's keen analytical insights. Unwavering in her belief, she asserts that love holds a pivotal role in the narrative, citing their kiss as an example—a gesture meant to convey deep emotions, not a capricious act as he perceives it.
With a touch of vulnerability, she unburdens her secret: she had auditioned for his directorial debut and has been on an unyielding quest to find him ever since news of the remake broke. However, she diminishes her own capabilities, doubting whether she could accomplish anything now that she has reconnected with him. He, once again, reassures her of her limitless potential, telling her she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. Empowered by his words, she boldly inquires if it's odd for her to harbor feelings for him.
