Outer Banks – Season 4 Episode 10 1

The episode resumes with the Pogues, joined once again by Rafe, reuniting on a desolate beach, their boat having been hurled ashore by a tempest that teetered on the brink of disaster. With JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline) back among them, the intrepid group ventures into the unforgiving desert, their eyes fixed on Essaouira and the singular mission to corner Groff (J. Anthony Crane) and seize the scroll that promises to unveil the Blue Crown's whereabouts.

Upon their arrival in the bustling city, the Pogues cause a commotion at the local bazaar, stealthily filching apples for Sarah, who is feeling queasy, thus prompting a breathless police chase. Amidst the tumult, Rafe gets inadvertently separated from the group, but not before Cleo (Carlacia Grant) procures disguises for them to slip through the authorities' fingers. Meanwhile, John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah silently infiltrate Groff's boat in search of the scroll, but their efforts yield only photographs of it. However, their nimble wits enable them to snatch a lens and slip away just as a mercenary nearly ensnares them.

Elsewhere, Rafe utilizes the funds he confiscated from the police to procure supplies, including a phone to contact Sofia and track down Groff's hotel. He arrives at the nick of time to rescue Groff from the Pogues' wrath, and together they flee with the scroll in hand. Yet, Rafe's insatiable greed proves his undoing, as he relentlessly pushes Groff into a well, abandoning him to a grim fate with the scroll in his grasp.

The Pogues' map guides them to the same well, where they discover Groff. Despite his earnest pleas, JJ makes the harrowing decision to leave him behind, a choice that cements Groff's reputation as the world's most deplorable father. The Pogues press onward to Agapenta, where Rafe is confronted by Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh) and her ruthless mercenaries. A fierce battle ignites, with Sarah orchestrating a distraction that affords Rafe a narrow escape. However, the mercenaries close in relentlessly, forcing the group to disband and scatter into the night.

As Pope, portrayed by Jonathan Daviss, and Cleo valiantly fend off the relentless mercenaries, Rafe and Sarah share a tender reconciliation, with Sarah unveiling the heart-wrenching truth behind their father's demise. Their sibling bond deepens in a poignant moment, abruptly shattered by the mercenaries' intrusion. Meanwhile, John B, Sarah, and Rafe embark on a relentless quest for the crown, while the remaining group valiantly buys them precious time.

Upon the map, they decipher an Arabic phrase that translates into a cryptic clue, guiding them towards ancient ruins. As a menacing sandstorm looms on the horizon, they engage in a desperate race against time to uncover the elusive Blue Crown. With daring bravery, JJ scales the towering statue within the ruins and secures the Blue Crown, only to find Dalia poised to strike. In a harrowing escape, Kiara (Madison Bailey) and JJ flee, but the chaos tears them apart.

Kiara is confronted by Groff, who emerges from the well with a sinister determination. Groff demands the crown and, in a heart-wrenching twist, stabs JJ after seizing it, leaving him to breathe his last in Kiara's embrace. The Pogues mournfully lay JJ to rest in Agapenta, his memory immortalized in a poignant montage that captures the essence of their fallen friend and fellow Pogue who kept the group unwaveringly united.

The episode concludes with a poignant scene of the Pogues gathered around a fire, grappling with their profound loss. Rafe reveals Groff's intention to flee to Lisbon, igniting Kiara's vow for revenge, setting the stage for the gripping final season. The Outer Banks' fourth-season finale is an emotional rollercoaster, ranging from the high-stakes pursuit of the Blue Crown to the devastating loss of a beloved comrade. The Pogues' odyssey is far from conclusion, as they steel themselves for revenge and justice against Groff. With the Blue Crown now in play and the stakes towering ever higher, the final season promises an exhilarating and unforgettable denouement to the Outer Banks saga.
