Episode 6 of Paper Girls commences with Erin and her companions arriving at the throbbing heart of the pulsating club, their beacon of reunion with the elder Tiffany. The club's beats pulse through the air as the quartet steps in, but Tiffany's eagerness to reunite with her future self propels her forward, seeking her out amidst the chaos. After a fleeting embrace, the elder Tiffany remains aloof, casually suggesting they crash at her abode. With KJ and Mac's tensions simmering beneath the surface, the girls reluctantly acquiesce.

As the sun rises, KJ ventures out for a solitary morning stroll, eventually finding herself immersed in the film '2001' at a nearby theater. Coincidentally, within the same theater, her older self sits with Lauren, their proximity a mirror reflecting KJ's inner turmoil. After the screening, KJ summons her courage and confronts Lauren, seeking guidance about her sexual identity beneath the veil of the silver screen.

Tiffany unveils her theory of returning to their original timeline, hinging on a visit to Larry's farm, where he remains a beacon of life in this alternate timeline. However, the prospect of altering the timeline looms large and ominous. Undeterred, Tiffany embarks on the journey with her older self, leaving Erin and Mac to forge a bond at Tiffany's abode. Their conversation dances through familial ties and future aspirations, Mac artfully skirting around her illness and impending death in this timeline, instead weaving a tale of becoming a veterinarian. Erin joins Mac, and together, they observe Erin's family from afar, a heartfelt moment of nostalgia.

Meanwhile, the two Tiffanys arrive at Larry's farm, their urgency palpable as they mention the Underground and the impending war. Larry's confusion gradually dissipates as Tiffany shows him the identical book he possesses, yet her copy is filled with Foldings, a stark contrast to his limited two. Young Tiffany's anger erupts, blaming Larry for their misadventure. Larry provides the coordinates, and the Tiffanys depart, but not before the younger one lambasts her older counterpart. Her indignation softens when she learns of Tiffany's aspiration to establish her own Institute in the future.

Back at Tiffany's abode, Mac confesses to KJ on the rooftop, her voice trembling as she reveals her impending demise. Tears well in Mac's eyes, yet KJ's embrace is unwavering. Their bond remains pure and untainted, unlike the graphic novel's portrayal, and Mac begs KJ not to reveal her fate to the others. As they descend, the kids learn with dread that the next portal opening is seven years away, potentially stranding them in this timeline. However, at Larry's farm, a strange purple portal reopens, spewing forth a 1988 newspaper, a bicycle, and other curiosities. It seems the Old Watch has indeed caught up with them, their hunt for the Paper Girls intensifying with each passing moment.
