Episode 4 of "Peacemaker" kicks off with Peacemaker and his team returning from their ostensibly "successful" mission against the Senator and his family, only to discover that Judo Master, surprisingly, is still alive and now held captive in an office where Murn awaits their arrival. Murn grills Peacemaker about his hesitancy during the operation, to which Peacemaker defiantly responds, attributing it solely to the presence of children.

Peacemaker is subsequently assigned to team up with Vigilante, who, still nursing the grief of having half his pinky toe amputated, incessantly whines about his impending disability. Together, they drive to Auggie's house, where Peacemaker forcefully breaks in to confront his estranged father. Meanwhile, a news broadcast catches their attention, mentioning a missing gorilla – a detail that, while seemingly insignificant now, may prove pivotal in future episodes.

It doesn't take long for Peacemaker to uncover that Auggie has been incarcerated, prompting him to lash out angrily at Murn and the rest of the team. Recognizing this as a potential issue, Murn assigns Leota the task of tracking Peacemaker down and preventing him from visiting his father in jail.

Upon catching up with him, Leota reveals the truth about the switched license plates and delves into Auggie's supervillain identity as a white supremacist. She attempts to persuade Peacemaker against seeing his father, but to no avail.

At the jail, Peacemaker appears, employing a rather crude penis analogy to elucidate their complex relationship. Needless to say, his effort falls flat. Auggie even wounds Peacemaker further by confessing that he loved his brother more.

Deflated, Peacemaker leaves with Leota trying to console him, while Vigilante, ever the drama queen over his pinky toe, arrives at the jail and deliberately gets himself arrested to confront Auggie. Amidst Vigilante's antics, Auggie insists on seeing the detective, claiming to possess crucial information about the ongoing case.

Meanwhile, the Judo Master frees himself from his bonds with practiced ease and delivers a swift, powerful kick to Economos' chest, sending him careening through a desk in a cloud of papers and splintered wood. In a rush, he darts out into the parking lot, with Peacemaker hot on his heels. A fierce battle ensues between the two combatants, their movements a blur of strength and agility. As the clash reaches a deadlock, the Judo Master drops a bombshell, hinting that the Butterflies are not what Peacemaker perceives them to be. Suddenly, Leota emerges from the shadows, her gun aimed true, and she pulls the trigger, ending the Judo Master's life in an instant.

Murn soon comes to learn of the plot to take out Auggie and flies into a rage, his fury directed at all involved. Leota dismisses his outrage with a casual shrug, justifying her actions as necessary hard choices. However, she concedes that if Auggie were to perish, it would deprive them of one less ally in solving this intricate case.

Elsewhere, Vigilante orchestrates his own arrest, hoping to gain access to Auggie within the confines of prison walls. He cunningly provokes Auggie's underlings into attacking him, only to disable them with ruthless counterstrikes that leave them unconscious on the ground. Auggie, however, proves to be a crafty adversary, remaining unperturbed and awaiting the guards to intervene. As both men are restrained, Vigilante taunts Auggie, branding him a "bad dad" and instantly recognizing a connection to Peacemaker.

Peacemaker, meanwhile, catches up with Emilia in a dimly lit bar, where she unearths more facets of his tumultuous past. It transpires that his file contains chilling revelations: his brother perished under "mysterious circumstances" that Peacemaker himself was somehow implicated in. While Emilia bails Vigilante out of jail, Leota dives into the files, her keen eye catching a potential breakthrough involving Glan Tai. She promptly calls Murn, who reveals a shocking twist: he too is a Butterfly, adding yet another layer of complexity to this tangled web of deceit.
