The first episode of Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians begins with Grover, who received his badge to seek Pan in Season 1, praying to the god in the woods. He implores for a sign and soon discovers a skeleton holding a wooden flute. Suddenly, a group of individuals emerge from the bushes, including a camper Grover knows named Allison. She plucks a golden thread from the flute and inquires about the golden fleece, which Grover knows nothing about. He realizes they are part of Luke's rebellion and begins to run. However, as he reaches the water's edge, a massive tentacle emerges from the sea and drags him under.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians – Season 2 Episode 1 1

Back at home, Percy Jackson wakes from a nightmare about Grover. It has been almost a year since he met his friends, and they have only been communicating through letters due to monsters being attracted to cell phones. There's also a new member in the Jackson household - Tyson, a cyclops. Percy's mother encountered him during her charity work and opened her home to him, even enrolling him in Percy's school.

As the two boys head to their last day at school before summer, a taxi driven by the Grey Sisters stops before them. Out of it emerges Annabeth, who tells Percy she's had a bad dream about Camp Half-blood being in trouble. They enter the cab, paying the sisters golden drachmas to get them to camp as quickly as possible. During the journey, they give Percy a hint about Grover's location, but it's just a string of random numbers.

The trio is dropped outside the camp, where Percy and Annabeth admit they left some things out of their letters. Suddenly, they are attacked by Laestrygonians (cannibal giants). As they rush through the border, Annabeth grants Tyson permission to enter since he's technically a monster, and Clarisse saves them from one of the giants.

Percy and Annabeth realize this was a distraction and run to Thalia's tree, where they witness Luke stabbing the tree with poison. He's trying to weaken the camp's barrier and runs off on his pegasus. The trio is introduced to the camp's new director - Tantalus. Apparently, Chiron has been removed for being Kronos' son. Just as Tantalus is giving the order to attack Tyson, a huge trident floats over the cyclops' head - he's Poseidon's son and therefore Percy's half-brother.

Percy and Annabeth try to convince Tantalus and Dionysus to let them go on a quest to heal the tree, but they refuse, instead focusing on the camp's upcoming chariot race. Percy is told not to leave his cabin when he disagrees. He's having a conversation with Tyson in their cabin when Annabeth asks Percy to go on a walk with him. He asks her to wait, and she seems disappointed.

That enigmatic night, Percy's dreams took on a new dimension as he found himself conversing with Grover in a realm where words flowed freely. Grover, his unspoken companion, revealed the profound bond between them—an empathy link that transcends the boundaries of wakefulness, allowing them to communicate through the veil of dreams. With a sense of urgency, Grover shared that he had been abducted by a monstrous creature named Polyphemus, who used an object known as the Golden Fleece as a bait for the satyrs. The threads of this fleece emitted a scent identical to Pan's, an enchantment that lured the creatures to their doom. More astounding was the fleece's ability to heal any ailment or injury, making it a coveted prize indeed.

Luke's team was hot on their heels, seeking the golden treasure for its extraordinary powers. As the dream neared its end, Grover imparted upon Percy the same string of numbers that the Grey Sisters had bestowed upon him, as if a final message from the realm of dreams. Percy's gaze fell upon a map hanging on the wall, and in an instant, he understood—the numbers were the coordinates to Grover's location, plunged deep in the heart of the sea of monsters.

Awakened from his dreamy reverie, Percy sprang into action, rushing to Annabeth's side with a newfound resolve. His eyes alight with determination, he shared his vision of how they could save the camp from the clutches of Polyphemus and secure the Golden Fleece for its healing might.
