The eleventh episode of Poker Face Season 2 kicks off with Todd Tolocci meticulously preparing for a wedding, only to be interrupted by the unexpected arrival of a man professing to be his chauffeur. However, this enigmatic figure, whose visage remains concealed throughout, swiftly strangles Todd and dumps his lifeless body into a plastic bag, which has the eerie ability to liquefy it within moments. Donning a disguise with meticulous precision, the assassin adopts Todd's identity, even equipping himself with a lens that mimics Todd's distinctive glass eye.
Transformed into Todd, he proceeds to the opulent wedding celebrating the union of Victoria and Kirby, the latter being the visionary behind the popular energy drink Ballzilla. To his astonishment, he spots FBI Agent Luca Clark among the guests, discreetly wearing a small camera embedded in his suit. Disturbed by this unforeseen development, he steps out to the boathouse to make an irate phone call to his client, expressing his dismay over the omitted intelligence about the FBI's presence. In response, his client doubles the fee as a gesture of compensation.
As Alex enters the boathouse to harvest oysters for the wedding festivities, working diligently as an oyster shucker, the assassin spots an opportunity to frame her for his deeds. Returning to the wedding hall, he approaches Alex, offering her a drink and engaging her in conversation with a charm that befits a seasoned imposter.
Kirby, the groom, and his entourage soon arrive to greet their old high school teacher, "Todd," whom the assassin portrays with flawless conviction. He subtly steals a knife from Alex's counter and trails Kirby to the bathroom, where he incapacitates him with a strategic injection. Donning one of the groomsmen's hats and placing another atop Kirby's head, he drags the unconscious groom out to the boathouse, orchestrating the scene to resemble two intoxicated men stumbling about.
Meanwhile, Alex notices that the cord to her refrigerator has been yanked out, ruining her oysters. Determined to salvage the situation, she heads back to the boathouse to fetch more clams from the water. To her horror, she discovers Kirby's lifeless body slumped in a boat. From behind, the assassin emerges silently, injecting her with a substance that sends her into unconsciousness.
Next thing we know, the sky lights up with a burst of fireworks, and Victoria catches a haunting glimpse of her late husband aboard a boat gliding silently across the lake. Meanwhile, Alex jolts awake in the adjacent seat, draped in Kirby's crimson blood and clutching his knife tightly in her grasp.
The Investigation Unfolds
Charlie awakens in the cozy confines of her NYC apartment, greeted by Alex who surprises her with a complimentary breakfast—a cunning bait to ensnare her into the role of an oyster shucker at a wedding, Alex's burgeoning entrepreneurial venture. Together, they venture to the wedding venue, ready for work.
Elsewhere, a van filled with FBI agents lurks ominously outside the residence, while Luca dons his covert camera and sets off towards the wedding hall, stealthily as a shadow.
Amidst the bustling wedding preparations, Charlie encounters the assassin, her sharp eyes zeroing in on his peculiar eye and a faint scratch marring his palm. Soon after, she overhears an heated exchange between Luca and Kirby. As Kirby storms away in a huff, Charlie coaxes Luca into spilling the beans. It transpires that Kirby is Beatrix Hasp's estranged son, yearning to witness his wedding live from her secure witness protection location. Yet, Kirby harbors resentment towards her for abandoning him at birth and refuses to grant her this wish.
Drawn to Kirby's solitary figure by the lake, Charlie gently delves into his psyche, painting a picture of the lengths Hasp has gone to, pulling strings left and right, just to catch a glimpse of his special day from afar. Her words soften his heart ever so slightly. Returning to the wedding hall, Charlie recounts the dramatic revelation to Alex, even divulging how Hasp entrusted her with access to her secret finsta account, adding another layer of intrigue to the tale.
Later on, Charlie takes a brief respite from her oyster-shucking duties when she catches sight of the assassin, unsteadily lurching about with Kirby. Both figures are adorned with hats, leading Charlie to erroneously conclude that they are merely intoxicated. Somewhat later, the grim discovery of Kirby's lifeless body and Alex aboard the boat stuns everyone. Alex vehemently denies any wrongdoing before plunging into the water in a bid for freedom.
Charlie, convinced of Alex's innocence despite the police's skepticism, resolves to track her down. She eventually locates Alex in one of the coat rooms, and together, they don costumes resembling the Ballzilla mascot to make a daring dash towards the boathouse. Inside, the sight of groomsmen caps, smears of blood, and the assassin's eyeglass lens abandoned in a boat dawns on Charlie – a professional killer had infiltrated their midst, disguised as Todd.
Luca, witnessing their escape by rowboat, attempts to persuade them to halt their flight. He warns that Hasp has already dispatched individuals to hunt down her son's murderer, rendering their current path perilous. Yet, unconvinced by his assurances of protection, they continue their journey to Charlie's car with unwavering resolve.
As the girls speed away, Charlie realizes that their only hope for assistance lies with Beatrix Hasp. They delve into her finsta account, piecing together clues with Charlie's keen insight to uncover her current whereabouts in an Indiana city.
Meanwhile, FBI agents scrutinize their undercover sources and uncover chatter about "The Iguana" – a spectral assassin renowned for leaving no trace of their passage. Luca, realizing that Charlie and Alex are still alive due to an unspoken agenda, comprehends that they are inadvertently guiding him straight to Beatrix Hasp.
