Poker Face – Season 2 Episode 12 1

At the next truck stop, Charlie ponders aloud that just two weeks of survival until Beatrix testifies will ensure their safety. However, her reflection is shattered when she catches sight of a figure that could very well be the elusive assassin. Panicked, the duo dashes back to their vehicle and narrowly escapes the pursuing figure.

Elsewhere, Luca finds himself in a bind, attempting to persuade his superiors to disclose Beatrix's location for her relocation. Shielded by a trio of agencies, each holding a fragment of a three-word phrase that unlocks its secrecy, Luca's plea is met with refusal from all sides.

Charlie and Alex finally arrive at Beatrix's residence. Boldly, Charlie approaches the front door solo, but it remains steadfastly closed. Circling to the side of the house, she stumbles upon a grim discovery—a lifeless body. In a bid to draw attention, Alex begins honking the car horn frantically. Charlie rushes back, but it's a race against time she loses; Alex has vanished.

Returning inside, Charlie encounters a harrowing scene of multiple corpses, Beatrix's among them. Just as despair begins to set in, Alex emerges from a side room, revealing a shocking truth—she is "The Iguana"! The revelation hits Charlie hard; Alex, the one person she believed she could trust implicitly, has been weaving a web of lies all along.

Alex recounts her years as an assassin, a life that had grown monotonous in recent times until a call from her agent sparked new intrigue. Convinced by the agent, she agreed to undertake a mission to eliminate Beatrix Hasp. Initially uninterested, Alex's curiosity piqued when she learned that Charlie, a human lie detector, was the only one who could facilitate her access to Beatrix, posing a novel challenge.

Alex's offer of a seemingly innocent cup of coffee to Charlie was, in fact, a meticulous test to gauge her ability to deceive the astute Charlie. To her relief, she succeeded, albeit after an extraordinary exertion of maintaining her facade. The subsequent orchestration of a murder at the gym cemented Charlie's trust in her.

Emboldened by this success, Alex hired the world's second-best assassin to target Hasp's son and frame Charlie, while she herself provoked a random man at a truck stop into chasing them, leading Charlie to mistakenly believe he was the Iguana.

The thrill of outwitting Charlie reignited Alex's passion for her work, but it also sealed Charlie's fate. As Alex prepared to pull the trigger, a fire alarm blared, interrupting her moment of triumph. Charlie, unbeknownst to Alex, had inadvertently left one of Beatrix's pots on a blazing flame, alerting Luca and summoning the police to their location. With no escape, Alex seized Charlie as a hostage and sped away in her car, pursued relentlessly by Luca and other agents.

Confessing her intentions to Charlie, Alex revealed her plan to terminate her life after besting her nemesis. Charlie, quick-witted as ever, pointed out Alex's failure to lie to her during the chase. Intrigued, Alex proposed a game of "Two Truths and a Lie," promising them both survival if Charlie guessed correctly. Charlie prevailed, but their victory was short-lived as the car's brakes malfunctioned, sending them hurtling towards the cliff's edge.

At the brink of doom, Charlie acted swiftly, flinging open her door and leaping to safety just as the car plunged over the cliff. Luca caught Charlie in the nick of time, sparing her from the abyss. With Alex vanished, Charlie faced impending federal charges, though Luca granted her a temporary reprieve.

Devastated by the turn of events, Charlie hurried away, catching a ride with a passing truck driver, leaving behind a trail of chaos and unresolved conflicts.

As another FBI agent scrutinizes the charred remains of Charlie's car at the canyon's depths, a closer inspection reveals that Alex is conspicuously absent from within its smoldering hull.
