Episode 4 of *Reasonable Doubt* Season 3 kicks off with Jax and Daniel paying a visit to Ozzie’s house to have a chat with Kristin. They grill her about who might have supplied Ozzie with drugs on the fateful night Wendy met her demise. Naturally, Kristin owns up to giving Ozzie drugs afterward, but she's completely clueless about what transpired that evening. She does, however, provide them with a promising lead—pointing them in the direction of Ozzie’s ex-drug dealer, Bryon. Jax, sensing the tension between Daniel and Kristin, tasks Daniel with following up on the lead, perhaps picking up on Daniel's unspoken crush on her.

Reasonable Doubt – Season 3 Episode 4 1

Meanwhile, Bill attempts to mend fences with Kendra, but his efforts fall flat. She coldly sends him packing, along with his tardy anniversary flowers. It becomes apparent that Kendra has grown weary of Bill constantly putting his career before his family.

With jury selection looming on Monday, Bill asks Kendra if he can drop the kids off early on Sunday, but she firmly shoots him down.

In other developments, Lewis quickly catches on to the fact that Sam, the new Black coder, has fibbed on his resume. Sensing an opportunity to help, Lewis offers to cover for Sam while he gets up to speed on the C+++ programming language, all without expecting a dime in return.

Back at the law firm, Jax rallies her team, revealing their strategy to leverage Ozzie’s history of childhood sexual abuse to reshape his public image. Their plan is to tie Wendy’s murder to a drifter who’s been wreaking havoc in the local community.

They aim to demonstrate that Ozzie was indulging in drugs during Wendy's absence. Jax contacts a lady from a relevant organization and recounts Ozzie’s tale to her. The moment she hears about the sexual abuse Ozzie endured and his subsequent struggle with drug addiction, her perception of Ozzie as a monster instantly shifts. Meanwhile, Daniel remains steadfast in his quest to locate Byron.

That night, before the child's arrival, Jax and Lewis let loose and indulge in a moment of passion. Naima returns home in a huff, confronting her parents about Toni. Spense makes his way back home, and during dinner, Jax and Lewis attempt to explain the situation. However, the children remain unforgiving, and Jax is plagued by worries that they may never get over it.

The following morning, Jax persuades Ozzie that opening up about his sexual abuse and drug addiction will bolster his case. Clearly, their intention is to unveil this information in court rather than embarking on a full-blown public relations campaign. Nonetheless, before proceeding, Jax urges Ozzie to first share his ordeal with his parents. Meanwhile, jury selection commences. Jax plays her cards close to her chest, letting the prosecutor believe he has the upper hand.

In the evening, Jax enjoys a girls' night out with her friends. Autumn drops the bombshell that she's pregnant, giving them all a reason to rejoice. In a private moment, Sally confides in Jax that she's been engaging in angry sex with her husband. Technically, they're still separated, and Jax can't help but wonder if Chris is only sleeping with Sally. This remark offends Sally, who then lashes out at Jax.

Later, Jax notices Lewis is still engrossed in work and advises him to stop being overly indulgent with Sam. The conversation then shifts to whether they should inform the kids about Eddie. Lewis proposes they observe Eddie to ensure he's on the right track before introducing him to the children. Jax concurs.

The next day, Ozzie, with tears in his eyes, recounts his sexual abuse to his parents. He adamantly refuses to name the perpetrator, and Jax pleads with his family to honor his wishes. The family rallies around Ozzie, offering their unwavering support and assuring him that he will be okay. Back at home, Eddie unexpectedly shows up while Mama Lu is watching the kids. He introduces himself, and they hit it off immediately. The children pour their hearts out to him about Toni and all the ongoing turmoil.

Mama Lu conveniently forgets to mention Eddie's visit to Jax. Instead, she asks Jax to call her father back. At Lewis's workplace, Sam continues to cause trouble, putting Lewis in a precarious position. At Ozzie's house, Daniel grows increasingly close to Kristin. She mentions that Ozzie has been keeping journals since he was a child. Later, Ozzie cautions Kristin not to flirt with Daniel after sensing a budding romance between them.

The following morning, as dawn painted the sky with hues of gold, the media descended upon Ozzie like a pack of wolves, accosting him even before the jury selection process could commence. Jax, ever the vigilant guardian, skillfully kept the reporters at bay, her demeanor calm and composed as she guarded her secrets without revealing a single detail of her intricate plan.

Meanwhile, Daniel, driven by desperation and deceit, lied to Kristin with a practiced ease, his eyes darting nervously as he embarked on a clandestine mission to search Ozzie's house for the elusive journals. Miraculously, he struck gold, uncovering them tucked away in a box beneath the bed, as if waiting patiently for his discovery.

In the hallowed halls of justice, Jax finally laid her cards on the table, revealing her hand with a flourish that left the prosecution reeling. It was then that they realized, with a sinking heart, that they had made a grievous mistake.

That evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, Lewis vented his frustrations to Jax about Sam. This time, it was as if a storm was brewing within him, threatening to break free from its cage. Yet, he held back, his rage simmering just beneath the surface. He was done covering for Sam, done with the charade, and secretly hoped that Sam would get fired.

At dinner, the kids arrived, their faces no longer etched with anger towards their parents. They mentioned that Eddie had helped them see things from a different perspective, his words acting as a balm to their wounded hearts.

Lewis and Jax exchanged a glance, their minds whirring with thoughts. Jax suggested that they should give Eddie the benefit of the doubt, reasoning that it would at least ease the tension between them and the kids. Lewis, though he disagreed vehemently, remained silent, his lips pressed into a thin line.

Elsewhere, Billie began to step up, his presence becoming more pronounced in the family dynamic. Taking a cue from him, Lewis decided to confront Eddie head-on. Oh, what a grave mistake that was! Eddie, with a keen eye and a sharp tongue, read Lewis like a book, his words cutting through the air like a knife, as if possessed by the spirit of Nene Leakes during a particularly heated housewives reunion episode.

After poring over Ozzie's journal, Daniel, his heart pounding in his chest, called Jax and began to read an entry aloud. It revealed a harrowing truth: Ozzie had been sexually abused by a woman named Monica since he was a mere 13 years old. The scene shifted, cutting to Ozzie smoking a cigarette with Monica, her presence both alluring and menacing. With Wendy gone, Ozzie had been trying to resist her advances, but it was proving to be an uphill battle as Monica brazenly attempted to seduce him, her intentions clear and unapologetic.
