Reasonable Doubt – Season 3 Episode 6 1

At Ozzie's abode, Jax shares her plan to expose Monica's pedophile past on the stand, planning to call her as a witness. Ozzie agrees reluctantly, and Bill queries the wisdom of this move. Later, Stephen and Vince reveal to Bill that the firm is in the process of being acquired by a larger one, hoping Bill will join them while not wanting Jax to be part of it. Bill informs them of Jax's plan to put Monica on the stand, and Vince assures him they'll find a way to address it with Jax.

At home, Lewis continues to shield Jax from his concerns regarding Eddie, growing more worried after Jax shows him a picture of Lionel. The next day, Vince and Stephen express their unease after Jax updates them on her plans. Chad has stepped down from the case, and Mike will take over. They fear Monica will be a hostile witness, ruining their chances of winning. Jax asserts she knows what she's doing and later confronts Bill, who denies working with Vince and Stephen to spy on her.

Later, Jax and Lewis have a therapy session where Lewis expresses anxiety about his parents' visit and Jax's desire for a family dinner without Eddie. The therapist suggests they stay in the present and embrace the dinner as it is.

The dinner was a veritable delight, as Eddie successfully won over Lewis's parents' hearts. Lewis was stunned when his parents announced their separation, but his brother later challenged him to stop expecting too much from everyone.

On the other hand, Daniel followed Kristin, witnessing her meeting with a gentleman. Meanwhile, Bill had a date with his wife, hoping to show her that he had changed. However, she remained unconvinced, and at the end of the date, she asked him to sign the divorce papers.

Elsewhere, Monica dropped by Ozzie's place after receiving a subpoena letter. Ozzie was more excited since it was his birthday. He bluntly asked if she had killed Wendy. Monica revealed that she had found a bloody sweatshirt in Ozzie's room before the police search, and she had taken care of it, worried that Ozzie might have been involved in Wendy's death.

As they talked, Ozzie's friends arrived for his birthday party. Ozzie asked Monica to bring some women for the party, and he ended up sleeping with one of them. Monica watched from a distance and intentionally started masturbating when Ozzie spotted her by the door. After that, she left, and Ozzie rudely kicked the other girl out.

The following day in court, Kristin took the stand. Mike tried to trip her up, and it worked. He brought up a message Kristin had unsent to her brother on the night Wendy died. Kristin tried to explain that she thought it would be better to talk to Ozzie in person since her message was in support of Ozzie firing their parents. Jax did her best to redirect the testimony, but Mike was relentless. In the end, he managed to make Kristin look like a biased witness. After that, Daniel comforted Kristin, and Krystal saw them together.

Ahead of Monica's day in court, Jax reached out to her. She pretended that she only wanted what was best for Ozzie. Jax asked for a truce and convinced Monica that she was not a threat. Monica believed everything and bought Jax's story that her testimony was the win they needed for Ozzie.

Later, Jax and Sally met for drinks. They ran into Bill, who was also drowning in the pain of his failed relationship. Sally and Bill hit it off immediately, but Jax sent Bill away when Sally visited the ladies' room. However, Sally managed to steal Bill's number from Jax's phone and texted him.

The following day, Jax skillfully places Monica on the witness stand, setting the stage for a dramatic turn of events. As she begins her testimony, the air is charged with anticipation, until she reveals the dark secret of Ozzie's sexual abuse. The room is stunned into silence, and Ozzie's mother seethes with fury, threatening to bring Monica down in a whirlwind of retribution. The judge hammers for order, and in the chaos that ensues, Ozzie is seen to quiver visibly as Monica vehemently denies any involvement in Wendy's death.

As the day draws to a close, Monica confronts Ozzie in the parking lot. He severs their ties formally, accusing her of the sexual abuse he endured at her hands. Monica vows to make him pay for crossing her.

Meanwhile, Lewis leaves a voicemail for Daniel, urging him to halt his investigation into Eddie. In parallel, Daniel meets with the man Kristin had encountered earlier—a budding author on the cusp of penning the next big tell-all book. Unfortunately, his source abruptly withdrew their support.

Daniel delves deeper and discovers that Alex Hill was the source about to unleash Ozzie's family secrets. He attempts to reach Alex on the phone, but his call goes unanswered. The scene shifts to Alex uploading a USB containing Wendy's image, while across town, Bill and Sally indulge in a passionate encounter.

In the interim, Daniel's friend calls with a discovery about Eddie, and Daniel promptly informs Lewis. They wait for Jax to return home and deliver the devastating news that her mother is ill—suffering from cancer. The news strikes Jax like a bolt from the blue.
