Reasonable Doubt – Season 3 Episode 8 1

Meanwhile, Sally and Bill continue their no-strings-attached affair, both going through divorces and content with their casual arrangement. Sally receives a letter from Chris's lawyer, and Bill offers to help her go through the papers. At work, Jax and Bill prepare for their next witness, hoping that their forensic pathologist, Robert, will testify that Wendy's death might have been caused by blunt force trauma before the shooting. They are also looking forward to Sal and Rosie's testimony, which they believe will cast a reasonable doubt on the prosecution's case.

Daniel continues his investigation into what Alex knew about the Edwards family, with Jax urging him to get his act together and stop sleeping with Kristin. Daniel is irked that Krystal snitched on him. As for Ozzie, he confronts Kristin, asking if she killed Alex. She denies it and asks if he killed Wendy. They agree to put an end to the accusations and stick together. In the evening, Jax and Lewis enjoy dinner and celebrate the week that has passed.

The following day, Robert's testimony cast a shadow of doubt, suggesting that Wendy's demise might have been the result of cerebral edema. During the hearing, Ozzie appeared to be barely present in his mind, as if lost in a haze. Meanwhile, Daniel lied his way into Alex's house, slinking in like a thief in the night to steal the man's laptop. His bounty? Wendy's illicit sex tape, which he promptly showed to Jax. Unfortunately, the video's faceless figure left them guessing – was it Ozzie? And who, if not Ozzie, had tried to seize the tape? Jax fretted that the tape could be used as a motive in court.

Bill suggested using a witness to introduce the video without implicating Ozzie, but their discussion was cut short by Rosie's meddling. She tried to play the role of the concerned mother, but Jax had none of it. She accused Rosie of using the tape as a weapon to drive a wedge between Ozzie and Wendy. Jax's question was direct: Did Rosie kill Wendy and Alex? Rosie, offended by the accusation, demanded that they focus on her upcoming testimony instead.

The next day, Rosie took the stand and dropped a bombshell that left everyone reeling. The man in the video was her husband. Ozzie's shock mirrored that of everyone else in the room. Mike did his best to mitigate the damage, arguing that showing the video in court would only tarnish Wendy's reputation with the jurors. However, the judge relented and allowed Jax to continue her line of questioning.

In the end, Mike used Rosie's testimony as a pawn to question whether she had been lying all along to protect her family. He brought up the fact that she had initially told the police she was with her husband and daughter on the night Wendy died. Now, Mike questioned if Kristin had lied too, casting a shadow of doubt over every word said in that room.

Following the hearing, Sal confronts Rosie for her culpable act of betrayal, asserting his innocence and claiming he was with his white mistress, Vanessa. Rosie, unrepentant, justifies her role as a cleanup crew, blaming Jax for starting the mess. Meanwhile, Jax informs Ozzie that the metadata confirms the video was made a year and a half ago, when he and Wendy were on a break. This revelation only compounds Ozzie's anguish, causing him to vomit and beg Jax to come over for dinner to seek the judge's permission, given his current state of mind. Can one blame him? He has just discovered his father's infidelity with the love of his life!

On the other hand, Nisha, Wendy's friend, gives a fiery interview on a popular podcast, fiercely defending Wendy and promising to unveil all her knowledge about Ozzie soon. Later that night, Bill pays a visit to Sally and notices the flowers Chris sent. He warns Sally that Chris is seeking spousal support and custody of the kids, wanting to move them to South Carolina.

At Jax's house, Lewis forces Eddie to confess about Chelsea ahead of the family dinner. Jax is overwhelmed to learn that everyone knew about Chelsea except her. Eddie insists that Chelsea is a troublemaker and it would be best if she stayed away. Lewis also admits to hiring Daniel to investigate Eddie. As they argue, Ozzie arrives for dinner. The meal turns out to be a warm affair with everyone showing Ozzie support. Ozzie sees Mama Lu's medicine in the bathroom cabinet and takes some pills before returning them to Jax with relief. Jax, disappointed but proud of not giving in to the urges, hugs Ozzie who thanks her and brings her in for a heartfelt embrace. Jax starts to feel sorry for him.

At Daniel's house, he secretly goes through Kristin's phone call log while she also secretly goes through his notes. These two are playing a dangerous game of love and mistrust. What a tumultuous duo! The following day, Chris drops by Sally's house where she lashes out at him and cautions him to get ready for their divorce battle. At Jax's house, Lewis apologizes about Eddie and asks Jax to consider meeting Chelsea to see what else Eddie might be hiding. Jax agrees but explains she needs to focus on Ozzie's trial and Mama Lu's recovery first.

Elsewhere, Ozzie calls Nisha ahead of her show and threatens to kill her if she dares to reveal any of his secrets. Apparently, Ozzie has been sleeping with female directors to get his acting roles. At the office, Bill gets served his divorce papers, hitting him hard but with no time to process as one of the senior partners interrupts him with a promise to make him a partner at the next voting meeting.

In Ozzie's home, Sal discloses to the assembled group that the majority of media contacts believe Rosie's testimony holds the key to saving Ozzie's reputation. With a renewed sense of urgency, Sal once again confronts Rosie. Ozzie and Kristin demand the unvarnished truth. Sal reveals that the infamous sex tape is a hoax, and Rosie paid Alex to swap Vanessa's face with Wendy's on the video. Ozzie is shocked by this revelation and blames his mother for shattering his life. In turn, Rosie blames Wendy for ruining her own existence.

Later that night, Nisha publicly apologizes to Ozzie, confessing that Wendy had lied to her. Meanwhile, Chelsea lurks outside Jax's house. Rosie calls Jax and confides her suspicion that Ozzie may have been the one who took Wendy's life. The scene then cuts to Ozzie having a nightmare, where he is startled awake by Kristin rushing in to check on him. In his state of confusion, Ozzie loudly questions whether he truly did kill Wendy.
