Episode 6 of Renegade Nell opens with the captivating tale of Polly, the woman whose belongings Nell had once unlawfully taken. Polly recounts how that encounter emboldened her, leading her to flee with her beloved, Mr. Scribble. Their journey ends at Jack's tavern, where Polly's eyes fall upon her own gown, now worn by Roxy.

Having harbored thoughts of Nell since their first encounter, when she was a highwayman, Polly now suspects that Nell harbors feelings for her. Unbeknownst to Polly, kidnappers mistake her for Roxy and seize her, bundling her into a carriage alongside George. Their plan is to use them as leverage to exchange for Nell.

Meanwhile, Nell appropriates the clothes and cart of a traveling peasant, leaving him with a sum of money as compensation. Billy, perched on the cart, whispers to Nell that something or someone is hunting her. Nell senses a deeper purpose in their current predicament.

George confronts the theatre troupe and demands to know why they are kidnapping people. They reveal that Japhia, their former leader, had brutally assaulted the man who replaced him, tarnishing the theatre's reputation and leaving them penniless. Japhia's anger flares when he discovers that they have abducted Polly instead of Roxy, but he is mollified when she claims her father is wealthy.

Nell returns to Jack's tavern, only to learn that George has been kidnapped. She pores over a cryptic note and sets her sights on Uffington. Roxy, unwilling to be separated, insists on following Nell, arguing that they are stronger when they stand together.

Poynton engaged in a tense conversation with Lord Godolphin, a prominent member of the queen's council, who was deeply perturbed by the looming threat of the Jacobites. Unfortunately for him, Poynton cleverly manipulated the situation, framing Lord Godolphin as a Jacobite sympathizer and having him arrested.

Meanwhile, Lady Eularia was on a relentless hunt for fresh information about Nell to fuel her newspaper's gossip mill. Her companion introduced her to a mysterious man who seemed to hold crucial secrets.

Poynton greeted Thomas with a warm embrace after bringing him back home from the bustling city of London. He attempted to brighten Thomas's mood, offering him a golden necklace adorned with a snake pendant, claiming it had the power to banish all guilt and shame. Thomas eagerly wore it and instantly felt a weight lifted from his shoulders.

Devereaux sat alone in his prison cell, surrounded by the ominous silence of his impending fate. Lady Eularia arrived with the startling news that his trial had been unexpectedly moved up to the next day. He clung to the hope that Eularia had used her influence to secure his freedom, but she remained silent, offering no assurances.

Rasselas returned to the Blancheford estate and eavesdropped on a conversation between Sofia and Poynton, discussing the intrigues surrounding Lord Godolphin and the Jacobites. Their talk veered towards Sofia's mysterious powers, shocking Rasselas to the core.

Nell arrived in Uffington and ducked into a barn, unaware that Japhia had staged a theatrical spectacle just for her. Japhia took on the role of the hero, plotting to capture Nell. He threatened Nell by holding George hostage and demanded that she drink a cup of poison. However, the other members of the troupe were not in agreement with Japhia's plan and decided to assist Nell and the hidden Roxy.

As Nell cleverly distracted Japhia, Billy surreptitiously swapped the cups on the table. Nell and Japhia each drank their respective cups, and soon Japhia realized his fatal mistake. He collapsed, poisoned, while a pregnant actress suddenly felt the contractions of childbirth. Nell quickly came to her aid, helping her deliver a healthy baby. Polly's admiration for Nell grew even deeper, and she couldn't help but plant a kiss on her cheek.

Shocked to discover that the newspaper was spreading malicious rumors about her and her family, Nell vowed to take on the press and expose their lies. She was determined to set the record straight, insisting that the truth mattered above all else.

Rasselas approached Sofia with a heavy heart, admitting that he had heard her voice at the prison. He was horrified to learn that she had been involved in such dark magic and accused her of abandoning him. Sofia coldly reminded him that he was her friend, but only because her father had bought him.

She reminded Rasselas of their childhood, when he would capture insects and she would set them free. She appealed to his kinder nature, but Rasselas's pleas fell on deaf ears. Sofia replaced the bandage on his wound with her own handkerchief and sent him away. Later, she kept the cloth close, perhaps plotting another sinister spell that would unsettle the final episode of "Renegade Nell."
