Ripple – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Amidst the storm's fury, Aria captures snatches of a song on her recorder, while Walter tosses and turns, unable to find rest. After sending Kris a snippet of her melancholic creation, Aria's anxiety mounts, wondering how her beloved will respond.

But Kris is preoccupied, on her way to London to visit her father—news of his health decline has reached her through the hospital's urgent call. The storm has grounded all flights, leaving her in a quandary, navigating the intricate web of emotions and responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Nate's mind races with how to break the news to Anna about his condition. Ellis suggests a confidant in Walter, who has already been privy to Nate's secret. Unable to sleep himself, Walter wanders to the bar for solace. In a twist of fate, Aria runs to the same haven, seeking solace from her own anxieties. As she arrives at the bar, she inquires about Kris's whereabouts and Nate's state of mind.

Learning that Kris is on her way to London but has since disappeared from communication, Nate fears she may have 'ghosted' him. As they converse, Ellis inadvertently spills the beans on Nate's condition to Aria.

At the airport, Kris encounters a woman grappling with a fresh heartbreak, prompting her to reflect on her own tumultuous relationship with her father. It emerges that Kris was once in a tumultuous romance with an older, aspiring rock musician who sought to control her life choices. Her father disapproved of Kris sacrificing her dreams for her boyfriend, while her controlling beau resented her close bond with her dad. He fueled a rift between them, causing a misunderstanding that Kris later realized too late.

Kris apologized to her father before departing for New York, unaware that the intercom at his place was broken. She left heartbroken, assuming he didn't want to speak to her.

Currently, Kris boards a flight to London, only to receive a call from the nurse informing her of her father's coma state. Back in New York, Walter dreams of Brenda pleading with him to let her go and live his life freely. The next day, he visits his friends at the basketball court, who are shocked but supportive upon hearing of Brenda's passing.

Elsewhere, Claire aids Nate in telling Anna about his condition. He requests her to drive him to the hospital for his surgery, as Kris is unavailable. Claire happily obliges, calming his nerves before the procedure. Unfortunately, Nate's condition proves more severe than anticipated, and the doctors are unable to remove all cancerous cells. The doctor informs Claire that Nate will require additional chemotherapy and a second surgery.

At the bar, Walter's friends set up a dating profile for him on an app, preparing for when he is ready to move on. Meanwhile, Sylvie receives bad news about flooding at her residence. Tara suggests she stay at her place while the landlord resolves the issue, but Tara soon realizes she is not yet ready for a new roommate.

In London, Kris finds her father in a coma and says her final goodbyes. Upon returning to her childhood home, she discovers that her father has been keeping tabs on her. It is only later that she realizes the truth about the intercom and that she has misunderstood her father all these years.

In New York, Aria experiences a miscarriage and breaks down in tears. Meanwhile, Nate wakes up from his surgery to find Anna by his bedside. In the meantime, Walter deletes his dating profile despite having multiple interested suitors, indicating that he is not quite ready to move on yet.

A flashback reveals that Nate and Kris were together at the airport on that fateful day she left London for good. It was also on that flight that she met her former boss, setting the stage for the events that unfolded thereafter.
