Rivals – Season 2 Episode 1 1

We then circle back to the night of the 'accident,' when Cameron bashed Tony's head with an award. She rushes to find Rupert, asking for his help. It's been a few days since then, and everyone is wondering where Rupert has gone.

Meanwhile, Freddie and his wife are hosting a gathering at their new mansion. Bas pulls up with a couple of lads, and it doesn't take long before they go skinny-dipping.

At the same time, Bas, Declan, and Freddie discuss business, looking forward to the upcoming polo game. Some of them will not only play but also Venturer will air the match. Gerald reports that things have been chaotic at Coronium since Tony's accident. He has also taken over Cameron's role since she left. They are worried that Rupert is on one of his sexual escapades and ignoring his campaign.

Valerie is proud that Wayne got into Eton, but people think he got in because his dad donated to the school. After the party, Taggie tells her siblings about her kiss with Rupert. She's hurt that he's gone and worries about what's happened to him. As it turns out, there is no cause for concern; Rupert is off in a secluded house, making love to Cameron. He assures her that he will protect her from Tony, whatever happens. They talk about maybe leaving for America and finding a way to stay ahead of the game.

Speaking of Tony, he's discharged from the hospital with his family by his side. He lies to Monica and the police, saying that he doesn’t remember his 'accident.' With him safely recuperating, Monica asks the kids to get ready to return to school. Obviously, Monica doesn’t buy his lie, and she sees him secretly meeting with Ginger. He brings the bloody award that Cameron hit him with and claims he didn’t clean it. Tony orders Ginger to find Cameron as he's aware that she's with Rupert.

Elsewhere, Declan endeavors to persuade the BBC to acquire the rights for his Yeats documentary, a work that loosely revolves around his relationship with Maud. The BBC expresses interest in featuring him on their platform and offers various positions, which he declines. He convinces Jeremy that they require a captivating, vibrant, and informative show.

Later, Declan visits Maud at her show. Her heart is touched when he shows up, and the media pays them some attention. During dinner, she informs him that she declined the tour offer and is ready to return home once she completes her show, yet she still desires to work. They end up dancing and heading back to the hotel for a passionate night of love.

It is only later, when Maud realizes that he never actually saw her show, that she becomes enraged. She kicks him out of the hotel room, leaving him naked and stranded.

Upon discovering Cameron’s and Rupert’s location, Tony rushes there in his helicopter. Unfortunately, Rupert was out on a bike ride and only arrived to see Cameron board the helicopter.

Tony brings Cameron back to Coronium and presents her with two options: either go to jail or end her relationship with Rupert and fully support Corinium and Tony’s future endeavors. Tony suggests that they forgive each other and move forward. She chooses the latter. She and Tony give the staff a rousing inspirational speech about how they will bring Venturer down. Gerald grows increasingly nervous as he wonders if she has betrayed them.

Rupert hurries to Declan’s house to seek his help in saving Cameron. Taggie listens to the entire conversation and wonders why he is so invested in Cameron. Freddie and Declan inform him that Cameron made her choice, and they must respect it.

On the day of the polo match, Cameron ignores the Venturer team, giving Tony a boost to his ego. Unsurprisingly, Rupert’s team wins the match. Lizzie feels sorry for Taggie as she observes her acting heartbroken over Rupert. She warns her that he is not worth the heartbreak. Monica and her friends mock Valerie, while Sarah vomits all over James before the broadcast.

To gain an advantage over Venturer, Tony wants Sarah to skydive. He is shocked when she refuses, whispering in his ear that she is pregnant. He urges her to abort the baby. It turns out that Beattie already knew and was likely waiting to use the information against Sarah.

Meanwhile, at the polo match, Caitlin starts flirting with Archie. Charles finally meets Gerald’s new fiancée, Caroline, also known as Muffy. Everyone cheers for them when they announce their engagement after the match. In the meantime, Lizzie tries to end her affair with Freddie after witnessing him with his family.

Cameron ensures that Tony states on record during the broadcast that he slipped and injured his head. Tony cannot backtrack and accuse her of attempted murder after publicizing the lie. She publicly humiliates him by quitting and going over to Rupert’s side to kiss him. Monica is embarrassed for her husband as she watches everything unfold from afar.

The skydiving plan becomes dangerous when Deidre, who replaced Sarah, gets caught in a tree before plummeting to the ground. She ends up at the hospital with Venturer, adding another bit of drama to their broadcast.

At the end of the day, the Venturer team celebrates at Declan’s house. Tony’s day gets worse when Sarah drops by his office and tells him that he is responsible for her pregnancy. He urges her to abort the baby. At home, Monica expresses her disappointment in how he allowed Cameron to embarrass him. She demands that he get his act together or she will hurt him for embarrassing them again.

At the party, Charles and Gerald discuss their plan to use Muffy to advance Gerald’s political career. Taggie is heartbroken when Rupert asks Cameron to move in with him. She confronts him in the kitchen and essentially calls him soulless for kissing her and then eloping with Cameron. He doesn’t even try to defend himself. He only claims that he was trying to be honorable and shouldn’t have kissed her.

The episode ends with Lizzie questioning if happy endings exist and warning that love comes with war and there will be casualties. However, the scene then cuts to Rupert and Cameron arriving home to find Tony waiting for them. He assures them that his retribution will be worse than whatever they think he is planning. He gives Cameron the blood-stained award and says it will be fun taking them down.
