Episode 2 of Rivals Season 2 begins with Rupert preoccupied with his campaign and Cameron. Taggie and Tony, unsurprisingly, are not pleased with the newest couple in town. In fact, they're not alone in their discontent—Helen also catches Rupert and Cameron engaged in an intimate moment, reminding Rupert that it was his weekend with the kids. Marcus and Tabitha also take a dim view of Cameron after learning she's their father's new girlfriend.

Rivals – Season 2 Episode 2 1

Meanwhile, Tony takes Sarah out for lunch after discovering they have a child on the way. He's clearly not keen on ending his marriage to Monica and threatens to ruin Sarah's career if she doesn't get an abortion. Despite her attempts at blackmail, she finds herself outmatched by a powerful and dubious man like him.

At home, Paul rants about the election, asking Sarah to host a dinner party for him. He's hoping to talk to Tony and gain more media coverage, with the election only a few days away. To get him to shut up, Sarah agrees to host the dinner.

Elsewhere, Taggie focuses on her cooking and tries to forget about Rupert. Speaking of which, he and Cameron bring the kids to Declan's house for their Venturer meeting. Unfortunately, Taggie goes for a walk before they arrive.

Declan receives a call from the BBC in the midst of all this, informing him that they're willing to develop his Yeats documentary. In the meantime, the others laugh at Cameron after Tabitha pulls a prank on her.

Declan insists on scouting a few areas in Ireland for the documentary, even though Cameron is against it due to budget constraints. Rupert begs Declan to take Cameron to Ireland to give him some time with the kids.

Contrarily, Lizzie drops by to talk to Taggie and ends up seeing Freddie. Rupert picks up on the flirtatious energy between the two and asks if they slept together. Lizzie admits they did, but it was a mistake that won't happen again. She points out that, unlike Rupert, she respects the rules so as not to hurt people.

The next day, Declan picks up Cameron, and they leave for Ireland. Rupert remains steadfast in his belief that Tony is done coming after them.

Instead of saying goodbye to Cameron, Tabitha rushes away and encounters Taggie, who consoles her with gentle words. Rupert, who happens upon them, extends an invitation for tea, but she rejects his offer.

Elsewhere, Sarah decides to secretly engage Taggie for her dinner party. However, things become chaotic when Taggie accidentally spoils the beef stew. In a moment of distress, Rupert calls Paul to share her predicament. He offers a helping hand and brings her beef stew from the restaurant.

While in Sarah's kitchen, they swap the pots, but Sarah returns to check on the progress. Taggie hastily pushes Rupert into the pantry. When Monica and Lizzie enter to offer their assistance, Sarah hides Taggie from their view.

Lizzie returns to use the upstairs toilet, and Sarah comes back to fetch more supplies. Lizzie ends up hiding behind a door that leads to the staircase.

James enters the kitchen to inquire about the rumor that Sarah is pregnant. Clearly, Sarah pushes Taggie into the pantry and is surprised to find Rupert there. She tells James that the baby is not his, and he is relieved. However, Lizzie overhears their conversation and feels wounded by her husband's infidelity. After they leave, Rupert confronts Sarah directly, asking if he is responsible for her pregnancy. She firmly denies it.

Paul comes to check on Sarah, and she hides James in the little winery in the kitchen. After Paul leaves, Sarah sends James away, but Tony and Beattie enter the kitchen. This time, Sarah hides in the pantry with Rupert and Taggie. They eavesdrop and learn that Tony and Beattie are plotting someone's downfall.

After their departure, Taggie dispatched Rupert with the briny stew. Just as Sarah and Paul returned to the kitchen, he tried to ask for a favor. They quickly placed the pot on the table and hid in the winery. Sarah inadvertently took the wrong pot to the dining table, but thankfully, they swiftly called her back and got her to take the correct one. At that moment, Paul entered and spotted Taggie, causing Sarah to confess. He assured them it was fine as long as Tony didn't see his enemy's daughter in their home. He left to serve drinks for their guests, and Taggie followed suit.

As Tony entered the kitchen to inquire about the abortion, Paul returned. Sarah hid him in the winery. Paul began complaining about Beattie, who was headed towards the kitchen. To avoid her, Paul entered the winery. There, he found Tony and took the opportunity to ask for an appearance on one of the morning shows before the election. Tony promised to work it out with his team.

After Paul left, Tony ordered Sarah to have an abortion quickly, worried about rumors circulating about her pregnancy. He threatened to fire her if she didn't sort it out. The stress and pressure of the party and pregnancy got to Sarah, but she tried her best to be the perfect host. The only problem was that Paul overheard everything.

After the party, Monica and her friend ran into Rupert at church. Later, they gossiped about the party and how Sarah had asked Taggie to cook. Rupert asked Gerald about his engagement, but he insisted that his taste had changed after meeting Muffy.

Over the next few days, Taggie and Rupert's children grew close. He invited Taggie to join them for lunch at Bas's restaurant. While there, they encountered Tony, who questioned why Rupert was spending time with someone so young as Taggie.

Later, Tabitha invited Taggie to their place to see her new horse. Helen welcomed Taggie, and Rupert couldn't help but fall for her deeper as he watched her play with his children.

At Coronium, Paul used the platform on the morning show to announce that he and Sarah were expecting a baby. Tony was angered, but Sarah explained that she never told him. This changed things as she could no longer have an abortion. Tony fired her from the show later that night. Sarah confronted Paul, and they argued. She accused him of trapping her and said she was done before storming out. In the meantime, Ginger informed Tony that they were all set for the night.

On the drive back home, Rupert admitted that he had failed Helen in their marriage and didn't want to hurt another woman again. He obviously meant that he couldn't hurt Taggie. She simply tried to comfort him. Their moment was interrupted by a hysterical Sarah, who came to Rupert claiming she had nowhere else to go.

In the evening, Declan and Cameron returned home with good news. Apparently, the BBC had greenlit the documentary and wanted it done in three months. They returned early to get started. At Rupert's house, Sarah asked about his relationship with Taggie. They prepared to watch the latest episode of Uncensored, thinking Tony and Beattie would come for Sarah. Only he came for Rupert himself.
