A ray of hope shines through as Geum-ju's company expresses interest in rehiring her. Gwang-ok, now having regained trust in her friend, can't help but shed tears whenever she recalls her moment of distrust. Meanwhile, Seon-wook notices Ui-joon's melancholy over Geum-ju's departure and they engage in a sparring session, bonding over the complexities of life.

Elsewhere, a group of gossiping women speculate about Ui-joon's feelings for Geum-ju, deeming her unworthy of him. Unable to bear their incessant chatter, Gwang-ok finally reveals the truth about Ju-yeop. Geum-ju unexpectedly appears, prompting an apology from Gwang-ok. However, Geum-ju feels a sense of relief, no longer needing to conceal the truth.

As anticipated, the news spread with the ferocity of a wildfire, stirring up a storm of emotions among everyone. Seon-wook, wracked with guilt for his incessant nagging at Geum-ju, sought solace by visiting a fortune-teller in hopes of acquiring a talisman of good fortune. Meanwhile, Geum-ju was in the midst of packing when her family unexpectedly returned the money she had sent them, pledging their unwavering support. This gesture deeply moved her. Even the boys made an appearance, and together they threw a bittersweet farewell party for Geum-ju. Adding to the string of positive developments, a real estate agent swiftly found a new tenant for Geum-ju’s apartment. To mark this occasion, Gwang-ok generously allowed a toast with a single drink, though Geum-ju politely declined, earning the admiration of all present.

Just as the celebration was reaching its peak, chaos erupted as the villagers, armed with pitchforks, descended upon Ju-yeop, intent on meting out justice. The Hans tried to intervene, but Geum-ju couldn't suppress her amusement, realizing that she now had a support system and didn't have to bear her burdens alone.

A flashback revealed that the new tenant was none other than Ui-joon. In a moment of solitude, she urged him not to sign the lease, finally confessing that she had indeed harbored feelings for him. This admission explained her embarrassment at his pity and prompted her to joke about him not going out of his way for her anymore.

Returning to work, Geum-ju was surprised to find Chief Kim displaying an uncharacteristic air of contrition. He looked out for her and boosted her morale. When the team proposed a welcome dinner, he reprimanded them for their lack of consideration towards her recovery. As a compromise, those who intended to drink went out, leaving Geum-ju behind. Kim's smirk became evident as she was left in solitude. A well-meaning colleague cautioned her that Kim was known to hold grudges, hinting at potential troubled waters ahead.

Ui-joon is overcome with the urge to inquire after Geum-ju, yet he manages to restrain himself. Nurse Baek, sensing his turmoil, urges him to pursue his happiness unreservedly. However, Ui-joon's father's menacing warning still echoes in his mind. A memory resurfaces, depicting Mr. Seo causing a commotion at Ui-joon's workplace – the hospital. In the midst of attempting to quell the disturbance, a nurse stumbles and strikes her head, adding to the chaos.

In the tranquil village, Jeong-su bumps into Seon-hwa and extols the virtues of Seon-wook as a devoted friend to Geum-ju. Intrigued, Seon-hwa ponders whether her brother harbors romantic feelings for Geum-ju.

Meanwhile, Hyeon-ju informs Seon-wook that their relationship can only extend as far as mutual acquaintance. Seon-wook confides in her, revealing his cynicism towards love due to his family's experiences. Yet, his heart transformed upon falling for her. As he plays with her children, Hyeon-ju views him through a new lens, seeing a softer side to him.

Returning home, Ui-joon discovers his love letter to Geum-ju in a crumpled state. A vivid flashback unfolds, revealing Mr. Seo catching sight of the letter and issuing a dire threat – to harm Geum-ju unless Ui-joon hands over money. The present moment dawns on Ui-joon with a chilling realization: Geum-ju is in grave danger.

As Geum-ju is making her way back home, a truck driver suddenly appears and collides with her car. Fortunately, Ui-joon arrives on the scene just in time to subdue the errant driver. At the police station, they discover that the driver is actually a former patient, a violent alcoholic who had refused treatment. Abandoned by his family, he holds Ui-joon responsible for his plight.

After resolving this matter, Ui-joon finds that Geum-ju is missing, sending him into a panic. Relief washes over him when he spots her heading towards the police station in search of him. His concern for her well-being is evident, but she urges him to calm down. Mistaking his pity for romantic feelings, she repeatedly misreads his intentions. In a moment of clarity, Ui-joon finally confesses his love for her, and they share a tender kiss.

In the epilogue of Episode 7 of "Second Shot at Love," Geum-ju seeks guidance from a fortune teller about Ui-joon. The fortune teller remarks casually that they had kissed ten years ago, prompting Geum-ju to dismiss her as a charlatan.
