Episode 7 of *Secrets of the Silent Witch* opens with Felix consumed by uncertainty, questioning whether Glenn was the one who had slain the earth dragon. Doubts swirled in his mind like a tempest, envisioning assassins lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment. Yet, as he caught sight of Glenn, Monica, and the other students gathered joyously for a barbecue on the school grounds, a smile slowly crept across his face, dispelling his anxieties. In that moment, he chose to cast aside his worries and join the merry gathering.
As night fell, Monica received a dress from Louis as a token of gratitude for apprehending Teacher Thornlee. She requested Rynzbelfeid to delay their departure briefly, for she wished to pen a heartfelt note to the wizard, expressing her thanks. During their conversation, she stumbled upon the revelation that Louis had also erected a formidable barrier around the school, shielding it from external malevolent forces. However, this enchantment was powerless against threats emanating from within.
The following day, Monica found herself pursued by Claudia, who had been shadowing her for days. Frightened, she sprinted away with all her might, her heart pounding in her chest. In her haste, she failed to notice Caroline Simmons looming in her path. Caroline, with an air of mystery, extended an invitation to a tea party, which Monica, though wary, accepted.
At the tea party, Caroline and her companions exuded an air of calmness, yet their behavior was tinged with an unsettling strangeness. Caroline beseeched Monica to inform Cyril that nothing untoward had transpired between them, a request Monica firmly rejected, unwilling to tarnish Cyril's efforts. Sensing resistance, they urged her to sip the tea and await the unfolding of events. Despite the bitter taste that lingered on her tongue, Monica drank it down without hesitation, stunning her hosts with her unexpected compliance.
Suddenly, the world around Monica turned a shade of red as she collapsed to the ground, engulfed in unconsciousness. In her dreamlike state, she was transported back to her childhood, reliving the harrowing scene of her town burning her father's books after his demise, branding him a sinner. She recalled being forced to relocate and live with her uncle, whose demeanor had turned bitter and violent. The weight of these memories bore down on her, causing her to cry out in agony, repeating apologies as onlookers, including her fellow students, watched in stunned silence.
Just then, Claudia arrived on the scene, swiftly deducing that Caroline had laced the tea with poison in a misguided attempt to torment Monica. Little did she anticipate Monica's unwavering resolve to drink it all or the severity of her reaction. Demonstrating her quick wit, Claudia induced Monica to vomit and rushed her to the infirmary, where she could receive the care she desperately needed.
Later, Monica awakens to find Cyril and Felix attentively tending to her. Overwhelmed with emotion, she apologizes profusely and breaks down in tears, lamenting that she always seems to do the wrong thing and couldn't even manage to host a simple tea party. Yet, Cyril and Felix, showing no sign of blame, gently urge her to return to bed and rest. Just then, Claudia strides in, playfully taunting her brother Cyril for his concealed concern for Monica, teasing him about his reluctance to show his true feelings. The two boys, intent on allowing Monica to rest undisturbed, leave Claudia behind to keep watch. Seizing the moment, Monica gathers her courage and inquires why Claudia has been following her so closely. To her astonishment, Claudia reveals that her motive isn't hatred but rather jealousy, as Monica is drawing nearer to her fiancé. Before Monica can ask who this mysterious fiancé is, Glenn and Neil burst into the infirmary.
As if by some enchantment, Claudia's demeanor shifts dramatically, becoming far more amiable. She even declares her friendship with Monica, much to everyone's surprise. It turns out that Neil is, in fact, Claudia's fiancé. As she playfully teases him, the atmosphere grows increasingly chaotic until Casey barges in, adding to the mayhem and effectively shattering Monica's chance for rest.
Meanwhile, Felix, seeking a moment of respite, goes to converse with Caroline and her friends. His mind lingers on Monica's tear-streaked face, seeing in it a reflection of his own childhood vulnerabilities. As he engages Caroline in conversation, she appears trusting, convinced that Felix means her no harm. However, Felix is all too aware of her guilt and presses her to explain her motives for poisoning Monica. No matter what Caroline says, Felix only tightens the noose, leaving her with no escape.
Just then, Isabelle Norton makes her entrance. For a fleeting moment, Caroline believes she may have found an ally, given Isabelle's outward display of animosity towards Monica. Caroline's nerves calm slightly as Isabelle offers them tea as an apology, unaware of the noble's true intentions. Suddenly, Isabelle produces a vial similar to the one containing the poison and adds it to their tea, claiming it's for their beauty.
Caroline, fearing the worst, attempts to drink it but spits it out immediately, making a spectacle of herself as she screams that it's poison. Isabelle, with a mischievous glint in her eye, adds a drop to her own tea and drinks it without any ill effects, revealing it to be nothing more than a prank to scare Caroline.
But Isabelle's antics don't end there. Realizing the close-knit bond of the family, she sees an opportunity to sow discord. Threatening that any harm to their family could mean no soldiers would come to Caroline's hometown when dragons attack, Isabelle forces Caroline to explain to everyone the consequences of trying to harm a Norton. Afterward, to soothe Monica's frayed nerves, Isabelle arranges for another bed to be placed in her room and allows Monica to sleep there for a week, providing her with much-needed rest and solace.
