The episode begins with a tense introduction to HIT, a renowned home shopping company about to broadcast its next segment. However, the host, Dam Ye-jin, is nowhere to be found. The studio managers frantically scramble on set, the situation growing increasingly dire. Just when all hope seems lost, Ye-jin makes a triumphant reappearance. She's dangling from the side of one of the tallest buildings in the city, proving the superior quality of the cleaning gloves they're selling. The stunt works, and the company sells out all its gloves in a flash!

Meanwhile, in the small village of Deokpung, a man named Matthew Lee struggles to go about his day due to the constant requests for help from the senior citizens around him. He adjusts the TV antenna for the senior center and gives a group of elders a lift on his trusty tractor. On the way, they describe Matthew's prickly personality but acknowledge that he always comes through for them, whether it's chopping firewood, removing a beehive, or helping a cow give birth to a calf. Each time, he insists that this is the last time he'll help them.
Back in the city, Ye-jin is well known for her appearances in advertisements and as a brand ambassador. After her successful glove stunt, she rushes to meet her boyfriend Ui-seok for a date. But he's visibly miffed that she's late, and it's clear this isn't the first time. He complains about her constant work commitments and lack of a personal life, eventually breaking up with her. Ye-jin looks downcast but, during their conversation, notices that the restaurant's knife would make an excellent product to sell on their show.
Afterwards, she goes back to the office and shows the knife to a colleague, Hwang Ki-hong. She then has dinner with her manager and friend, Uhm Sung-mi. When Sung-mi hears about the breakup, she calls Ye-jin out for never clocking out of work. When Ye-jin goes home, we see that even her house is filled with notes about what products can be sold. She also struggles with sleep and resorts to taking pills.
Elsewhere, Matthew gets a call from his brother, Kang Mu-won, who works at a company called Gojeuneok Bio. Mu-won has gifted him a new tractor, but Matthew is content with his old one. When Mu-won asks him about "that thing," Matthew says he hasn't changed his mind.
At work, Ye-jin gets a shock when she realizes that her prime time slot has been given over to Ji Yun-ji - the top seller of the network who specializes in beauty products. Yun-ji is accompanied by Song Myung-hwa, whose compact she will be selling on the broadcast. Myung-hwa's presence unsettles Ye-jin; clearly, there's some bad blood between them.
Ye-jin storms up to Director Dong Hyun-ki's office and demands an explanation. Director Dong explains that beauty products bring in much more money and tells Ye-jin to get the French brand L'Etoile on board to get her spot back. However, Ye-jin has a clause prohibiting her from ever selling beauty products.
The scene shifts to a new character - a man named Eric Seo who is the executive director at L'Etoile and has just arrived from France. He goes for a meeting with Mu-won, asking to renew their contract with Gojeuneok Bio, which provides raw material for L'Etoile's products. However, Mu-won says their company will not be renewing the contract. A flashback shows Matthew dumping the contract in the bin.
Elsewhere, Ye-jin watches Yun-ji's segment on TV, her mind drifting back to a time when she and Myung-hwa sold a cream together. Soon after, protests erupt as consumers complain about the product's adverse health effects. A flashback also reveals a picture of Myung-hwa with a man, holding a baby, leading to the possibility that she could be Ye-jin's mother.
Ye-jin continues to struggle with her sleep issues, and her doctor refuses to prescribe more pills as she has reached the maximum dose. She arrives late at work, but manages to host the segments as usual, though she feels exhausted inside. Sung-mi gives her a pep talk and tells her to trust herself.
In Deokpung, Matthew picks up a little girl from school who, unlike the other kids, is wearing a mask on her face. Meanwhile, Eric gets excited when he learns that Ye-jin has asked to meet with him to talk about L'Etoile. During the meeting, he seems a bit downhearted when she doesn't immediately recognize him. She offers him the opportunity to appear on HIT's show, and he agrees to work with HIT on one condition - that Ye-jin helps him get Gojeuneok Bio on board. She agrees and decides to work on convincing the raw material farmer (Matthew) while he tries to get Mu-won back on board.
That night, Ye-jin does her research and learns that the key ingredient in L'Etoile's products is the WF mushroom, which comes from the white flower noori mushroom, native to South Korea. After a whole night of working, she drives to Deokpung Village to visit the farm herself. There, her car and Matthew's tractor end up blocking each other's way after she drives down a one-way street. Both of them refuse to move their vehicles behind, leading to a standoff.
