Something Very Bad is Going to Happen – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Later, Rachel confides in Nicky about the mysterious letter, but he dismisses it as a prank from one of her ex-partners. He believes their love will weather any storm. As Rachel heads to retrieve her wedding dress, she discovers it's missing, fueling her fears of sabotage. Nicky pledges his support in finding it, determined to help his sister.

While Nicky searches for the dress, Rachel overhears Boris and Nell arguing in the office about Victoria's possible confidences from the night before. As she exits, she runs into Jude, who has discovered the blood from his nosebleed. Panicked, he screams for his father, warning of the "Sorry Man" intent on harming Rachel. Jules quickly shushes his son, warning him never to mention the entity again.

Meanwhile, Nicky's efforts to find the dress prove futile, leading him to suggest returning home to check if they'd left it there. Portia, his sister, sees it as a romantic gesture, but Rachel insists she can find an alternative. Despite this, Nicky leaves her in the capable hands of Victoria Nell and Portia. Victoria suggests allowing Rachel to try on her own wedding dress. Portia agrees and subtly convinces Rachel to accept the offer.

The dress fitting becomes another peculiar experience as Portia takes control of everything. Victoria also takes Rachel's necklace, which contains her mother's engagement ring. She offers her an heirloom ring and even takes her engagement ring. Rachel tries to object, but Portia insists that she must honor the women from Nicky's side of the family. As they talk, Rachel is shocked to learn that 100 people are coming to the wedding. She thought she was having an intimate wedding with only family members. It turns out that Nicky has a large family, and she starts to panic as the others continue suggesting what she should wear and how she should style her hair. Portia moves to open a bottle of champagne and ends up falling into a mirror and hurting her arm. Nell rushes to help her in the bathroom, and she starts screaming, "I can't do this to her." To distract her, Victoria brings out a pearl necklace and tells the story of the women in her family. She asks Rachel to consider wearing the necklace at the wedding. However, Rachel considers pearls a sign of bad luck at a wedding. After putting the necklace on, Rachel starts to worry more about Victoria's strange behavior since she keeps apologizing. Rachel starts crying and runs to her bedroom to call Nicky. He is similarly shocked to learn about the wedding guests. Rachel vents about the dress and says it's like his family doesn't care who he marries. She goes on to tell him about the crying, weird behavior, and the strange whispers. She asks him to come back, and he agrees.

In the confines of the room, Rachel's gaze alights upon the garment bag hidden beneath her bed. She checks it, but it's empty. The incessant noise outside further compounds her suspicion. Determined to uncover the truth behind her missing dress, she embarks on a meticulous search of the rooms. Eventually, she discovers a fragment of her dress in the hallway, a stark reminder of what's been taken. As she delves into one of the rooms, a tome on rituals catches her eye. Overhearing Portia and Nell's heated disagreement about what she should wear, Rachel makes a beeline for Victoria's room, where she realizes her old necklace is nowhere to be found. Her path then leads her into a confrontation with Boris, who is affronted by her wearing Victoria's wedding dress. He commands her to remove it immediately.

Nell's and Jules' room reveals a stash of lethal medication but no wedding dress. Jules notices her snooping and asserts that she's already dressed for the wedding, which is quite enough. He listens to her tale and offers to assist in removing the dress.

Later, Rachel attempts to reach Nicky on the phone, but he's unreachable. She leaves him a frantic message, stating that she'll head to the highway if he doesn't return soon. At dinner, Rachel's mind is plagued by the relentless sound. Victoria claims it's from their neighbor's snowplow. She then adds that Boris is resting in his room, but Rachel doesn't believe it. She feigns a call from Nicky and excuses herself. Rushing outside, she stumbles upon Boris using a generator to dig a hole. A bizarre scarecrow wearing her wedding dress adds to her terror.

She assumes the worst and starts running. He chases after her, trying to halt her progress, but she escapes through the gate as Nicky pulls up. She jumps into the car and asserts that his family intends to kill her in a ritual and that his dad is digging her grave. The rest of the family gathers outside, wondering what's happening.

Nicky exits the car and requests a chance to speak with his family. He urges her to drive away if she feels unsafe and promises to catch up with her. The situation deescalates, and they all return inside. Boris explains that he's digging a grave for Victoria due to her brain cancer and that they've been planning her death. She wants to go out on her own terms, and they thought the wedding would be the perfect opportunity for a final family gathering. However, they kept this truth from Nicky and Rachel and decided to hijack the couple's wedding.

Nicky is shocked by the news, while Nell returns Rachel's necklace. Rachel inquires about the wedding dress and learns that Jude stole it to perform a ritual to keep the Sorry Man at bay. His parents, along with Rachel, assure him that the Sorry Man isn't real. However, it's clear that Jules believes he is. After a harrowing day, Rachel comforts Nicky in bed. Outside, a man dressed in black watches the house eerily.
