In the fourth episode of Stranger Things: Tales From '85, our perspective shifts to follow Steve. After his date with Natalie, he accidentally calls her Nancy. Oops! In the car, he turns on the power and is immediately attacked by one of the creatures from the sawmill. Naturally, he abandons the car and runs for safety.

Meanwhile, with El injured and struggling, Mike realizes he hasn't kept her safe and decides to take her back to Hopper and confess. At the cabin, Mike rehearses his speech while Hopper calls El to let her know that he'll be back in a few hours with some home videos. El isn't happy about being sidelined from the fight, and the group disagrees on the right course of action. Eventually, Dustin and Steve team up to hunt for the creatures.
They don't have to wait long before they find one inside a meat truck. The pair trap it in the back and drive off together. Dustin believes they need to head to the incinerator plant to dispose of it properly, but with vines protruding out and slamming around the front of the truck, that's easier said than done.
The pair eventually make it to the dump and lead the two creatures into the plant. The second creature had followed them up the road to the dump. With Steve in the control room, he tries to find the right controls to turn on the incinerator. Eventually, he finds the right button, and they breathe a sigh of relief as they're destroyed.
With the two creatures killed, Dustin reflects on how he's been pushing his HIC a little too hard. As for Will, Nikki takes him to her garage where we see all her little inventions and gadgets. She decides that Will and the gang should have access to her weapons if she's to move on to other things.
Back at Hopper's, Mike apologizes for not hearing out El and undermining her. As they agree to tell Hopper what they've been doing together at the arcade, Lucas loses one of his photos, which unfortunately winds up in Keith's greasy hands. He refuses to give it back and shuts up shop that night. The pair pedal over to Hopper's to let him know what's happened, just as Hopper himself returns home to talk to them.
