Episode 4 of "Territory" unfolds with Graham confined within the bars of a jail cell. Hank remains unscathed, yet Graham finds himself behind bars for discharging a firearm. Emily, visiting him in his distress, encounters a storm of anger from Graham, who believes she is abandoning him for Campbell's affections. Tears well up in Emily's eyes as Graham's anger subsides into an apology, but it's too late; she storms out in a huff.Returning to the scene of the crash, Marshall and Sharnie find themselves in a perilous pursuit, with helicopters hovering menacingly above and trucks thundering ominously on the ground. Seeking refuge, they slip into a shadowy cave, where the echo of their hurried footsteps mingles with the dripping of stalactites. In the secluded embrace of the cavern, they pour out their hearts to each other, Sharnie confessing that she had sensed a connection from the very start. Their confessions culminate in a tender kiss, leading to a night intertwined in each other's arms.
As for our new couple, they discovered several skeletons at the back of the cave. They are still on Lawson's land, and Shani is upset because she believes the Lawsons killed the Cave Skeleton. They are interrupted by thieves who surround them. A shootout breaks out and Shani is forced to kill a man. Marshall picked up his phone and called Emily for help. She returned to Marian and took a helicopter to pick up the children. We finally see that the culprit is Campbell, who spots Emily and orders his men to stop shooting. However, they did not stop and shoot the children. Shani fell off a cliff and Marshall was shot in the leg. Believing Shani to be dead, Emily arrives and rushes him to the helicopter while telling her about the stolen cattle.
Sandra, still plotting against the Lawsons, is stunned to discover that her son is dating Susie Lawson. To mask her disdain, she puts on a fake smile, heaping praise on Susie while disparaging her criminal family. Lachie, however, sees right through her scheme, recognizing her ulterior motive of gaining Marianne's favor. He playfully suggests that marrying Susie might just grant her wish, and Sandra's contemplation of this idea hints at a twisted calculation.
Nolan makes another attempt to mentor Dezi, entrusting him with the care of a calf. The next morning, fury fills Nolan's eyes as he discovers Dezi asleep, and he threatens to put down the calf. But Dezi, unperturbed, reveals that he has been diligently feeding and nurturing the calf without being asked. Nolan's anger melts into admiration.
In the depths of their cave hideaway, Marshall and Sharnie stumble upon a grim discovery—skeletons scattered at the back. Realizing they are still on Lawson land, Sharnie's heart races with anger, convinced that the Lawsons are responsible for the cave's grim secret. Their peaceful moment is shattered by the arrival of the thieves, who encircle them like predators. Gunshots ring out, and in the chaos, Sharnie is forced to take a life. Marshall, seizing the initiative, grabs the fallen thief's phone and urgently calls for Emily's help. Emily, swift and decisive, rushes back to Marianne and together they board a helicopter, racing against time to reach their loved ones.
Elsewhere, Marshall and Sharnie are entangled in a desperate bid to evade the relentless thieves. It transpires that Rich has betrayed their whereabouts, and the thieves have laid siege to their former refuge. Faced with this peril, Marshall and Sharnie decide to flee the city, but their journey out is marred by a bitter spat. Sharnie accuses Marshall of betraying Rich's trust, and despite Marshall insisting that his near-kiss with her was a testament to his love for her and that he stayed for her sake alone, she remains unconvinced, striking him in frustration. Distracted by the altercation, Marshall loses control of the truck, leading to a harrowing crash.
Turning to the enigma surrounding Daniel, Hank remains clueless about the saddle's significance, prompting Emily to seek answers from Elton. Meanwhile, believing Emily has deserted him, Colin attempts to evict Susie from her duties, but she stands her ground, reminding him that she is the sole caregiver of the cattle.
Elsewhere again, Nolan vents his frustrations to Bryce about his malfunctioning car. Bryce, in a fit of irritation, decides to punish Dezi by selling him off. However, this is not the solution Nolan seeks, and Bryce, exasperated, hands Dezi over to Nolan to deal with as he sees fit. Nolan is further astounded to find Sandra engaging with Keeley and the Aboriginal community.
Returning to Laggan Downs, his station, Nolan discovers that Sandra has played him for a fool. As part of their agreement, she was supposed to supply him with cattle. Instead, she gives him undersized, malnourished animals and dares him to prove his mettle as a drover.

At long last, we discern that the perpetrator is none other than Campbell, who catches sight of Emily and swiftly instructs his men to cease their firing. Yet, oblivious to his commands, they persist, unleashing bullets upon the children. Tragedy strikes as Sharnie tumbles off the precipice, while Marshall suffers a gunshot wound to his leg. Amidst his despair, believing Sharnie to be deceased, Emily arrives on the scene, hastily conveying him to the helicopter. As he confides in her about the stolen cattle, she confronts Campbell, who confesses his exhaustion from endless waiting. He offers to restore everything to her, the stolen livestock among them, but declares his impatience to take action. She declines his proposition and prepares to depart, only to learn from him that Sharnie still breathes. Determined to keep her away from Marshall, Emily orders Campbell to heal Sharnie and send her far from their reach. She then transports Marshall back home, reminding Colin of their agreement, yet acknowledging that Marshall's choice dictates his future with them.
In the meantime, Campbell admits Sharnie to a hospital and bribes her to depart. His cruel remark that Marshall never bothered to inquire after her solidifies her belief in his abandonment, serving as the final blow. Returning to Marianne, Colin approaches Marshall, conceding that if he wishes to leave, he is free to do so. Stirred by the memory of the cave skeletons and driven to alter the station's legacy, Marshall decides to remain. Colin shares a heartwarming moment with his other grandchild, reluctantly acknowledging Susie's competence with the bulls. He is further impressed as she enlists Lachie's help to round up the bulls, emphasizing the need for new energy in their endeavors.
Graham, at long last, catches Morgan in the act of bribing the guards for additional supplies of liquid soap. Observing this, Morgan, with a malicious grin, decides to provoke Graham by shoving the soap directly into his face. This audacious move ignites Graham's fury, prompting him to empty the entire contents of the soap onto Morgan before resorting to physical violence. Undeterred, Morgan taunts back, asserting that Graham is no different from him and that neither can escape the shackles of their addiction.
Elsewhere, Susie is enjoying an exhilarating moment with Lachie, as they sit beside a cascading waterfall. Lachie shares how his mother, Sandra, holds Susie in high esteem, despite her family background. Susie, bewildered, listens to Lachie recite Sandra's words about her family being criminals. Hurt by the revelation, she attempts to clarify, but Lachie only digs deeper by justifying Sandra's caution, claiming that their wealth necessitates they avoid gold diggers. His insensitive comment backfires, as Susie promptly counters that she too hails from a wealthy family but one that deeply cares for their land. Enraged, she storms off, heading back home.
As Territory Episode 4 draws to a close, Emily finally locates Elton. Noticing that he is in possession of Daniel's horse, she inquisitively asks if he witnessed who orchestrated the entire situation. Elton confirms he did and shockingly reveals that it was Emily herself.
