That Night (2026) – Season 1 Episode 6 1

Cris tells Javier that he won't be charged, as he was helping his family. He accepts that he never helped and confesses that he blamed Paula and Cris for Maria's suicide. While she knows that, Paula doesn't, and he promises to apologize to her. The news reports that all charges against Cris have been dropped for cooperating with the cops. There is also a new video from the bar that shows Elena actually failed to spike Wil's drink, suggesting a premeditated murder attempt.

Next, Cris visits Elena in prison, trying to lift her mood with updates like Ane getting to visit her in prison. Elena has had enough and calls out Cris for pretending to be her mother. She doesn't want Ane in prison with her and is upset that Cris's distorted truth will become a part of Ane's life. Hurt, Cris lashes out and tries to get a confession out of her. Seeing that they are being recorded, Elena makes a scene until she is taken away.

Ane is investigating the case because she wants to know the whole truth before making a decision on whether to testify in Elena's favor so she can get out on parole. As a journalist, she believes in hard facts. Cris left with Ane when she was four and raised her in Barcelona. They last saw Paula 15 years ago for Javier's funeral. Through their exploration of Pamplona and Cris's recounting of that night in 2003 at the Arbizus' old apartment, Ane is getting to know Elena better.

The night in the Dominican Republic is revisited through a flashback, revealing that Wil, though drunk, was not drugged. Elena deliberately drove off the road and hit the brakes, causing Wil to hit his head and become disoriented. She pushed him to check the engine, but hesitated, and he mocked her for her driving skills. This snapped her, leading her to run over him multiple times until he died.

Paula, who has been living and working in the Dominican Republic, is revealed to have spent three years in prison as Elena's accomplice. She has been sending most of her money to Elena, who is serving her sentence in the country. Cris, Elena's sister, expresses her disapproval of Paula's continued devotion to Elena and her lingering guilt from the night in 2003.

Cris does not want Ane to testify because she believes that the truth will only keep Elena in prison. She compares Paula to their manipulative father and reveals that Elena likely has TB and didn't ask Ane to testify; it was Paula who did so. Paula begs Ane to save Elena, but Cris stands firm in her belief that the truth should keep Elena behind bars.

Ane is hurt by Elena's absence during the hearing and believes that Elena should have reported Wil instead of killing him. However, she ultimately understands that Elena is staying away to ensure Ane can have a normal life without being dragged down by a criminal mother. Ane chooses to believe that Elena was a scared, young mother who made a mistake while protecting her daughter. She asks the court to give Elena a second chance and proves that she is still a good person. However, she immediately leaves the country without waiting for Elena, who is released on parole.

Elena is greeted by Paula and Cris, who explain that Ane is still unsure if she wants a relationship with her. Elena states that she keeps messing up but for once did the right thing by letting Ane live her life.
