Meanwhile, Roache shares a startling revelation with Constance, suggesting that they might be able to procure guns from the elusive Russian swindler, Arkasha. In the town, Albert stumbles upon Lucinda at the sawmill. She's a newcomer from the Caribbean, her presence adding a fresh breath of diversity to the community.

Elsewhere, Elias confides in Trisha about his worries and they agree to meet later in the evening at the Delta Trail. Meanwhile, Lilla stirs up a ruckus in town after spotting a man carrying a Sioux saddle, bragging about killing three Sioux to acquire it. Dahlia and Fiona stand by Lilla until the Sheriff intervenes, shooting his gun in the air to diffuse the situation.

Later, Lilla shares with Fiona her struggle to find her identity. She feels torn between not wanting to betray her people and wanting to be loyal to Fiona.

In a shocking turn of events, the priest asks Constance for help in finding a new teacher for the students. To everyone's surprise, Constance hires Albert, despite his incomplete education. It emerges that Albert's father was a teacher who imparted knowledge to his son until his passing. Although Albert didn't complete school, he continued to study on his own, demonstrating a profound dedication to learning.

The news of Albert's new job takes Fiona, the priest, and the parents by a sudden surprise. Fiona confronts Constance, wondering if she is trying to sow discord between her and her son. Constance questions whether Fiona is being too protective or has no faith in Albert. The conversation changes Fiona's attitude towards Albert's new job. She tells him that she is proud of him and defends him before a parent. He promises he won't let the job tear them apart. Within a few lessons, Albert proves himself to be a wonderful teacher.

Down in Paxton's farm, Dahlia and Lilla trick him into housing a new dog, which Paxton grumpily agrees to, but he is just playing hard to get. Later that evening, Roache and Constance visit Arkasha to make a deal for the guns. He initially refuses to sell to Constance, so she threatens to kick him out of town. Cornered, Arkasha agrees to disappoint his previous buyers and sell the guns to Constance. After the deal, Constance orders Roache to bring more of his men to her ranch, where they will keep the guns. She also officially appoints the Redmasks as the town's bodyguards. At the house, Garrett and Trisha reminisce about their father and brother.

The next day, Lucinda visits Albert at school and casually flirts with him, much to Samara's disappointment when she sees them chatting. At the bar, Elias admits to Fiona that he is conflicted about his feelings for Trisha. He rushes to meet with her as planned. The two take a walk and discuss their family issues. Fiona admits that she finds comfort in Elias's presence, and they kiss - only to be interrupted by the arrival of the marshals pulling a body wagon. The town surrounds the wagon as the marshal shows Constance the body they found in the woods, believing it is Willem since they found his belongings on the body. However, the body is too distorted for a definitive identification, leaving Constance with a heavy heart as she turns to look at Fiona.
