The opening scene of Episode 4 of The Accident Season 2 finds Alex pleading with Charro, his voice choked with emotion, to spare Lupe's life, fearing the fate of becoming a killer like his parents. Charro soothes him, assuring him that he is not that way. But Alex's frustration boils over, and he finds himself drunk and violent with Salome, the friend he's staying with. Panicked, she turns to Lucia for help.

At Tamara's, Charro confesses that dealing with Lupe will be a challenge, given Alex's protective instincts. Tamara suggests a more sinister plan: to mess with Lupe as a form of punishment. Meanwhile, Emiliano is hanging out with Javier, warning him against playing with fire—a reference to Cayetana, the dangerous situation they're both in. Brenda spots Emiliano and is visibly upset by his presence, kicking him out. Javier tries to help her move on from the loss of their child, but she refuses to acknowledge him.
Lucia meets with Alex and he tells her about Lupe's involvement in the killing, begging her to help him keep her out of prison. However, he panics when she suggests informing the cops, fearing the consequences for Lupe.
While spending time with his daughter, Charro sends Dynamite to take care of Daniela. But Emiliano finds him and tries to put an end to the plan. Dynamite escapes and warns Charro that Emiliano is determined to take revenge.
Tamara approaches Lupe with a deal. She pretends to be glad that Lupe has taken the troublesome Charro off her hands and offers her 40% of the revenue from a casino she wants to build on Lupe's land. The scene is charged with tension and the promise of more intrigue to come.
In a different corner of the story, Carla enlists Yolanda's services to gather intel on David's murder. Yolanda befriends the construction workers and discovers that David's body had been buried for a year, with most of the former workers from that time long gone. Lupe is initially wary of Tamara's offer, but Ulises assures her it's a good one. The company has taken a severe hit since the demise of Charro and David, so she ultimately accepts the offer. He also advises her to speak with Alex and learn what he knows about the murders.
Brenda pays a visit to Cayetana, warning her to stay away from Javier. She boasts that her marriage is strong enough to weather whatever storms may come their way. She also displays her knowledge of the law, having legally changed the child's name to Mateo without Javier's knowledge.
At the Lobos' residence, Daniela finally feels at ease with Emiliano. As they attempt to have sex, he feels a pang of guilt when he catches sight of the Rodri tattoo.
Tamara boasts about her casino plan, but Charro is not interested in a convoluted scheme to punish Lupe. He tries to seduce Tamara in an attempt to regain control, but she stops him after a kiss.
Javier learns about the name change and is deeply upset. In response, Brenda accuses him of having an affair. He calls her delusional and claims he's finally lost his patience with her, which sends a shiver down Brenda's spine.
Daniela continues to investigate Charro's escape, but the prison warden is uncooperative, refusing to believe that his guards could be bribed.
As the tension mounted, a fear-stricken Alex desperately sought reassurance from Lucia that Lupe would remain untouched. Unable to bear the drama any longer, he ended their relationship. In a state of disarray, Alex's distress was compounded by the arrival of Emiliano, who soon found himself embroiled in an argument with Alex. The overwhelmed Lucia fled the scene, only to accidentally crash her car in her haste to escape. Upon learning of the accident, Daniela immediately blamed Emiliano, remarking that he would end up murdering them all, just like Rodri.
Meanwhile, at a surprise birthday party for Paula orchestrated by Carla and Fabian, along with some classmates, the atmosphere was tainted by Paula's discontent. She had not wanted a party and accused Carla of trying to mother her, ultimately storming off. At the office, Javier unleashed his frustration on Cayetana over Brenda's stubbornness. She taunted him, mentally conjuring up a scenario of their affair. In a fit of passion, Javier pulled her close, and they engaged in a steamy tryst.
Back at the party, Carla apologized to Paula, who confessed her desire to spend time with Rodri. Carla indulged her in ghostly encounters, which upset Fabian. Meanwhile, Alex shared the circumstances of his breakup with Charro, who regressed to his old self, scolding him for involving Lucia in Lupe's affairs. However, he wanted to look out for his son and decided to bring Alex to Tamara's.
At home, Daniela refused Emiliano's touch, tired of his apologies. For once, he agreed that they might be too broken. Just as Javier and Cayetana concluded their tryst, Brenda called to apologize. She hinted that he was too smart not to see that Cayetana wanted something from him. Javier felt both guilty and suspicious of Cayetana's motives.
The cops arrived at Tamara's house, having seen her with Lupe and finding it strange that she had moved to Santa Cruz around Charro's escape. Charro hid, almost having a confrontation with Daniela, but Chelita intervened to stop her from finding him. Exhausted, Daniela went home to find Emiliano leaving. He knew she was trying and vowed to love her forever. But now he knew it wasn't enough. She cried as he left and agreed to a divorce.
