The Alibi (Filipino) – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Cut to the present, Katherine receives good news from The Fides Hotel, and she shares the job acceptance with Joseph. His worry is palpable—Stella's reaction if she finds out Katherine took the job. He vows to keep it a secret, not wanting to fuel another rift between the two friends.

Meanwhile, Stella arrives at Cabrera News with a newfound purpose. With her club days behind her, she seeks a new outlet by helping Vincent tidy up his home. She pops by the office to collect the keys, unaware that downstairs, Ricardo and his partner are grilling Claudia about the lipstick found on Walter's hand. Claudia assures them it's not hers, leading the detective to ponder Vincent's knowledge of Walter's other romantic entanglements.

Stella, with Vincent by her side, recalls the night when Walter had inadvertently smudged her lipstick. Vincent urges the detective to delve deeper into Walter's case, convinced that they'll uncover the truth—Walter was no innocent victim.

Katherine embarks on her first day at work, unaware that Edward Cabrera is also working as a waiter at the hotel and has a mischievous plan in mind. He delights in watching Katherine stumble, sending her to serve a particularly difficult client on her first day. As Katherine catches a glimpse of Edward's smirk and realizes he's playing a prank, tension simmers between them.

Elsewhere, Vincent buys Claudia an ice cream cone, and her guard is down enough to share more about her tumultuous childhood. The siblings come from different fathers, and their mother was often ridiculed for being a "loose woman." They even went so far as to suggest that Stella would follow in her mother's footsteps.

Despite the insults, Stella's determination to take care of her siblings remained unwavering, and she was willing to endure any hardships. Despite her emotional state, she attributed her feelings to the ice cream she had just consumed. Stella cooked for George and Vincent at Vincent's house, while George made fun of Vincent, claiming that their relationship was not at all fake. George thought this was a good idea. However, Stella had stopped working at the club due to Vincent's successor's manipulative tactics.

George showed Vincent a video he had taken down from the internet, which claimed that Stella had drugged someone's beer and stolen their wallet. Stella claimed that the footage was slanderous, and Vincent believed her. Vincent wondered if Walter's death was related to drugs and if someone wanted to frame him for it. The only person Vincent knew who was related to Walter and involved in drugs was Claudia.

To determine who Claudia was working for, Vincent devised a plan. Earlier, when Vincent sneaked into Walter's house, he had taken Walter's second phone. Using this phone, Vincent called Claudia and followed her car when she left the gym. Claudia panicked after receiving the call and went directly to Matthew, even suggesting exhuming Walter's body to confirm his death.

Vincent realized that Claudia was working with Matthew, but Arthur stopped him before he could confront them. Arthur informed Vincent about the upcoming investor's ball, giving him one final opportunity to find investors for Cabrera News. If he failed to secure an investment, Arthur said that he would shut down the company.

Matthew extends an invitation to Stella as his companion at the investors' ball, under the guise of introducing her to the family. Stella politely declines, but Matthew leaves his contact details in case her mind changes. Later that evening, Stella is mired in introspection, recalling the day she was arrested. Walter's visit to the club, rummaging through her bag, and their cancelled plans due to a supposed work emergency loom large in her mind. Shortly after, she was arrested, and a police officer thanked Walter for tipping them off about the drugs. Stella wonders if Claudia was involved in the setup that led to her imprisonment, suspecting a larger manipulation at play.

Determined to attend the ball, Stella finds herself in the midst of a dramatic confrontation. Arthur, in his speech, makes threatening remarks about the unassailability of the Cabrera company. Vincent is surprised to see her but is halted by investors before he can approach her. Stella follows Matthew and Claudia, overhearing their conversation where she learns that Matthew brought her to the ball to get rid of her. He wants Claudia to play the victim, making Vincent and Stella's relationship indefensible, leaving them with no choice but to abandon each other.

Matthew asks Stella for a dance, making it the center of attention. When Stella finds herself in Vincent's arms, it sparks conversations among the guests. Vincent asks Stella to leave, as his primary focus for the day is securing investors and saving Cabrera News. Stella leaves, and Arthur scolds Vincent for it, despite it being Matthew's doing.

Outside the ball, Stella encounters one of her obsessed admirers who tries to force himself on her. Stella fights back, injuring him with a statue. She runs to the restrooms in a panic to wash her hands. Jacqueline finds her and warns her to pick her battles wisely if she wants to protect those close to her. Meanwhile, Claudia tries to make up with Vincent, saying she is the better choice, but he chooses to stay in his "hell" rather than get back together.

The injured man claims that Stella tried to sell herself to him, but when he turned her down, she got emotional and hurt him. Arthur orders Stella to be thrown out of the event. Outside, Claudia adds fuel to the fire and accuses Stella of breaking up her family. She says they were fine before Stella came into the picture and calls her a "homewrecker." Claudia doesn't give Stella a chance to fight back and even accuses her of going after Matthew. At the end of the episode, Claudia humiliates Stella by tearing her dress. Edward and Katherine witness Stella's humiliation while everyone else stands around doing nothing. Others start taking videos, but Stella does not fight back.
