The fifth episode of Alibi picks up right where we left off, with Claudia humiliating Stella outside the investor's ball. Vincent steps in, offering Stella his coat and asking Claudia to call it quits. Inside, Mr. Lim insists that Stella hit him and demands payment, prompting Arthur and Jacqueline to suggest calling the police. Stella bravely counters that she has nothing to hide and is willing to tell her side of the story in front of the authorities. Katherine steps in, takes Stella aside, and Vincent gives chase after trying to reason with the investors. Stella puts an end to their relationship, telling Vincent he doesn't have to see her again, lest he be further embarrassed.

Later at home, Stella pleads with Katherine to quit her job. She promises to care for them until they find Joy and take them to a new place to start anew. Jacqueline and Arthur bicker over the day's events, with Jacqueline wanting to shield Vincent from Stella's wrath. Arthur is livid that Vincent chose to protect Stella at a critical juncture, saying he tarnished the Cabrera name – their shield, not their prison.
Vincent follows Stella home, but her phone doesn't pick up. Arthur confronts Mathew for messing everything up, wishing Walter were still around to have handled the situation and kept it between Vincent and Stella only.
Meanwhile, Detective Ricardo goes AWOL, and the chief brings in Andres Tolentino to work with Norman on the case of Walter's death. Later, news of Ricardo's death in an accident circulates online. Norman gives Andres the evidence found at Walter's murder scene, and he takes note of a piece of fabric.
At the same time, Katherine finds Stella's torn dress at home while doing laundry. She wants to throw it away, but Joseph urges her to keep it, thinking Stella might want to repair it. Vincent searches for Stella at the bar, but Mama Mona and Stella's friends dissuade him from approaching her. Meanwhile, Katherine contemplates quitting her job at the hotel. Joseph dissuades her, saying it helps Stella. Then, Edward is harassed by neighbors when he comes looking for Katherine. She arrives in time to save him, announcing he's her friend. Katherine and Edward argue over Vincent and Stella's relationship.
Edward expresses his discomfort with Stella's entanglements with Vincent, while Katherine sees red flags in Vincent's presence. Finding common ground, they decide to join forces and keep the trio apart. Vincent, in a bid to uphold his end of the bargain, sells his watch collection and a painting for a sum of 10 million pesos. He dispatches George to deliver the cash to Stella. Later at work, George indulges in musings about Mathew's potential involvement in Walter's murder and the possibility of drugs. Vincent follows Mathew to a casino, only to witness Mathew being dragged to the garage and brutally beaten for failing to pay his debts. Edward happens to witness this entire ordeal. Meanwhile, after receiving the funds, Stella enlists the help of a private investigator in her search for Joy. Edward sneaks into Mathew's office and steals the financial statements for the first quarter of the year. Detective Andres, on the other hand, delves into the social media accounts of the guests at Arthur's birthday party, matching the lipstick and fabric with Stella's. At home, Edward and George uncover numerous irregularities in the financial statements, including purchases without receipts and a dubious payment for staff training. The following morning, Vincent schedules a meeting with Arthur and Mathew. On his way out, he runs into Andres and Norman, who inquire about his meeting with Stella. Vincent explains that he had merely called her to the resort. The detectives then speak with Stella, who recounts the same story as Vincent. Before heading to the office, Vincent stops to speak with Stella, appreciating all she has done for him and offering to help find Joy. However, Stella turns him down, insisting that the money he gave her was sufficient. When Vincent arrives at the office, he finds that Arthur has already left. Mathew pleads with Vincent not to reveal his gambling addiction or his embezzlement of company funds to Arthur.
Mathew unburdens himself to us, revealing that Walter had aided him in the crafting of false accounts, assuring him that the missing funds would remain a secret. Meanwhile, Vincent confides in Jacqueline about Mathew's gambling addiction and the crushing debt it has brought upon him. Jacqueline, in turn, shares this information with Arthur, who promptly convenes a board of directors meeting to address the embezzlement.
The meeting reveals damning evidence pointing towards Vincent's involvement, and a motion is put forward to remove him from all executive positions at Cabrera News pending legal review and accountability proceedings. Jacqueline vows to fight the allegations tooth and nail, but Arthur urges her to remain calm and act with reason. Despite her passion, the board, including Arthur himself, votes unanimously to remove Vincent from his position.
As Arthur dismisses Vincent from his duties, Mathew celebrates the outcome. However, Jacqueline confronts Arthur for siding with the board and terminating her son. Arthur insists that the board followed the proper protocol, and Jacqueline challenges him, asking if he will support her if she decides to use the same protocol to reinstate Vincent.
Arthur's response is clear: he will only protect what is rightfully his, a stinging reminder that Vincent is Jacqueline's son. Stella, overhearing this exchange, is devastated by Vincent's termination. As the episode draws to a close, she arrives at the company to offer her support to Vincent, amidst the blame and accusations that seem to have engulfed everyone at Cabrera News.
