The next morning, Ashley, Miran, and Sofia head to the park, hoping for a fresh start. Miran apologizes sincerely to Ashley for pushing her to the brink of leaving and promises to do better. However, when they return home, they find two child protection officers waiting outside, ready to take Sofia away
Ashley, in her protective mother mode, refuses to let them take Sofia and tries to physically resist the officers. The police intervene, pinning her to the ground while the other officers drag Sofia away. Ashley calls Tea, her voice filled with tears as she relays the devastating news. Enraged, Tea confronts Folke, who admits to using the situation as leverage on Ashley. He orders Tea to use this opportunity to turn Ashley against Miran. Tea is done playing along and effectively quits the case. She returns to her old apartment, ignoring Ashley's desperate messages.
In the aftermath, Ashley blames Miran for losing Sofia. During a supervised visit, she loses her composure when Sofia refuses to draw Miran in her family portrait. The children's officer is forced to kick them out of the facility. On the ride home, they blame each other for the current predicament.
Over the next few days, Ashley struggles to keep it together. Folke reaches out to her, offering various options to get Sofia back. He promises to help her if she turns against Miran. They meet at a club, but Ashley quickly gets drunk and ends up hurting her hand in the process. On the contrary, Miran finally receives his latest consignment and sets a meeting with Erik for the delivery. When they meet, Miran brutally bashes Erik's head with a stone. At home, Ashley confesses to Tea that a PET officer has contacted her, revealing her intention to protect both herself and Miran by not cooperating. Tea waits until Ashley falls asleep before sneaking down to the basement. She breaks into Miran's office and snaps a few pictures of crucial documents. Miran almost catches her in the act, but she acts swiftly to return upstairs and evade suspicion. She tells Miran that she is there to tend to Ashley's needs.
As Ashley wakes up, she sees the blood on Miran's hands. She offers to walk Tea out, and they end up at a park. While there, Ashley spills the beans and mentions that the police have also inquired about Tea. Tea weighs her options and reveals her true identity as a PET officer. She tries to convince Ashley to come clean, but the latter is too stunned to even listen. In a fit of anger, Ashley slaps Tea and walks away, as the truth about the betrayal sinks in.
