The Auditors – Season 1 Episode 10 1

As the night deepens, Seo-jin, Han-soo, and Cha-il delve into the papers, their perseverance paying off when they uncover Assistant Manager Jeong's manipulated grades. The next dawn brings swift justice, as Moon and Jeong find themselves dismissed from their posts. Auditor Seo Hee-Jin clears Seo-jin's name, assuring the president of her innocence amidst the turmoil.

In a heartening revelation, we learn that despite Dae-woong's generosity in purchasing a home for Seo-jin and her mother after their own was destroyed, Seo-jin remains steadfast in her commitment, repaying both principal and interest with an IOU as her testament.

Se-woong's expectations of the audit's outcome are left shattered, his frustration mounting as his popularity wanes amidst Dae-woong's continued success in securing monumental construction deals. Meanwhile, Moon teeters on the brink of despair, attempting to end his life amidst the rush of traffic, only to be saved by Cha-il's timely intervention. Cha-il offers words of encouragement, assuring Moon of a fresh start. However, the storm refuses to abate as Jeong attempts suicide within the confines of the office, necessitating a hospital transfer for treatment. The episode thus ends on a cliffhanger, teeming with emotional intensity and unexpected turns.

Meanwhile, Se-woong makes a heartfelt visit to his elder brother, who, though stirring back to consciousness, remains shrouded in a veil of incomplete recovery. Parallelly, Cha-il, Han-soo, and Seo-jin embark on a journey to the hospital, their hearts heavy with concern for Jeong, only to be met with a cold denial at the door.

The aftermath of Jeong's father's accusation against Cha-il triggers a swift response from the president, who initiates a scathing audit against him. Enter Auditor Seo Hee-Jin, her methods as unyielding as they are controversial. Her visit to Jeong in the hospital only serves to reinforce the whispers of coercion that hover around her actions.

Elsewhere, Se-woong finds himself trapped in a lonely corner, as the directors' favor tilts heavily towards Dae-woong. The next day, a shocking revelation unfolds during an interview: an ex-employee of Cha-il's former company, driven to despair by the audit's relentless scrutiny, has taken his own life. The whispers turn to accusations, implicating Cha-il's tactics as the catalyst.

Dae-woong, moved by a sense of justice, delves into Cha-il's case, determined to uncover the truth. He stumbles upon a business card, a link to Cha-il's former ally who had aided in unraveling an embezzlement scandal, a scandal that ultimately claimed the life of that innocent employee. Han-soo and Seo-jin follow this lead, uncovering a heartbreaking tale of sacrifice—the employee's suicide a desperate attempt to protect the real culprits and fund his wife's cancer treatment.

Returning, they encounter the grieving widow, her protest outside the company's gates a testament to her unwavering search for answers. When they reveal the truth, they also uncover a sinister plot—Jeong's involvement in attempting to silence Cha-il through her false suicide attempt. Their suspicions deepen as they learn from Jeong's colleague that the suicide was but a ruse, orchestrated for personal gain.

Armed with this damning evidence, Auditor Seo boldly declares Cha-il's innocence to the president, who had grown increasingly impatient with Cha-il's unwavering integrity. It becomes clear that the president's haste to dispose of Cha-il was hindered by a legal loophole—he could not dismiss him for two years without tarnishing the company's reputation.

As the story draws to a close, Se-woong's sister-in-law brings him tidings of his brother's progress, inviting him to visit the next day. But in the stillness of the night, a sinister figure strikes, ending the president's life in a hospital room, leaving a trail of unanswered questions and a sense of foreboding that lingers in the air.
