Episode 3 of The Bear's third season kicks off with a profound funeral oration by Marcus, honoring his beloved mother. The narrative weaves through sessions, not bound by a rigid timeline, but rather by the tumultuous chaos that envelopes the establishment.

The Bear – Season 3 Episode 3 1

Richie and Carmy, still locked in their bitter rivalry, engage in a constant verbal duel as they oversee the front and back of the restaurant respectively. Richie even concocts his own list of unwavering principles, albeit with a tinge of irony in the words 'open heart' and 'razzle dazzle'. Meanwhile, Carmy adheres steadfastly to his own standards, refusing to compromise on the culinary perfection of each dish, even as Richie laments the guests' impatient waits.

Sydney strives to maintain a sense of calm, offering support to the visibly stressed and overwhelmed Tina. Jimmy, on the other hand, grows increasingly agitated as he scrutinizes the escalating costs of the restaurant's operations.

Chaos reigns supreme within the walls of The Bear. Plates shatter, Fak attempts a tentative service but only manages to return the food to the kitchen. Ebra struggles to keep up with the barrage of beef orders at his station, leaving it in a state of disarray. Natalie calculates the numbers and informs Richie that they must increase their customer intake daily to avoid financial losses.

Carmy's daily menu alterations further confound the already disoriented staff, both in the kitchen and the dining area. Jimmy demands answers from Natalie, perplexed by the lack of profits despite the restaurant's nightly crowds.

In the heat of one particularly hectic session, Richie and Carmy's arguments escalate into a physical altercation over a guest's request to omit mushrooms from a mushroom-based dish. This tumultuous exchange enrages Sydney, leading to a spillage of order tickets across the floor. The fights and mess persist, until one night, Carmy's vision begins to blur as he frantically calls out orders. His anger intensifies, prompting Sydney to sternly command him to calm down. Yet, the chaos persists, and even Sydney seems to have reached her limit by the episode's close.
