Claire shares a heartwarming anecdote about a young patient of hers, her body marred with cuts from an accident, yet emerging from surgery with a giggle, as the pain had yet to set in.

Meanwhile, Marcus remains entrenched in grief over his mother's passing, while Sydney struggles with the decision to open the partnership document. Accompanied by her father, they inspect a new apartment, yet his hesitation about the partnership deal is palpable. Surprisingly, it transpires that Sydney has already signed the lease.

Elsewhere, Richie spends time with his daughter, sensing her concern about him being alone now as her mother prepares to wed Frank. Richie learns that DD, Carmy's mother, will be attending the wedding, and he inadvertently leaves his wedding ring aside while preparing.

Natalie and Pete, on the contrary, are abuzz with excitement about their impending bundle of joy, due in just two weeks. Tina ventures to the farmer's market but is dismayed to find the produce sparse. Back at The Bear, the Fak brothers unveil a wall adorned with pictures of food critics, a sight that undoubtedly stirs Carmy's anxiety, though he remains composed. By the beef window, Ebra's station is a chaotic mess, overwhelmed by the influx of orders.

Richie deposited his daughter safely at her abode, only to be intercepted by Frank, who requested a private conversation. Frank expressed his dismay that Richie had not informed him before proposing to Tiff, but Richie asserted that his approval was never a necessity. He merely desired a harmonious relationship between them.

On her journey, Sydney encountered Adam Shapiro, a patron from the esteemed fine dining establishment, The Ever. Adam praised The Bear's cuisine, particularly a delectable scallop dish, and the two engaged in a brief yet pleasant chat.

Back at the restaurant, Sydney and Carmy clashed over another recipe alteration, prompting Sydney to highlight the communication issues within their team. Carmy concurred, acknowledging the need for improvement.

Natalie, engrossed in her research on Michelin stars, was joined by Richie. He recognized her concern about the potential impact of her mental health on her child. Richie offered his sympathy, and Natalie reassured him that Evie would still cherish his presence in her life, regardless of her mother's remarriage. Suddenly, Natalie received a phone call, interrupting their conversation.

The two hastened to the kitchen, informing the staff that The Tribune was coming to capture the essence of The Bear through their lenses. This news signified that a food critic had already visited the restaurant, and their hard work was soon to be scrutinized in the upcoming review at the end of The Bear's third season's fourth episode.
