Episode 6 of The Boys Season 5 begins with MM finding The Legend working at a Vought movie theater after Homelander freezes his assets. He persuades The Legend to help him contact Bombsight and get the V1. Vought is preoccupied with attempting to replicate the V1 and failing. They are also setting up an alternate oil supply in Alaska, since the Middle East will sever all ties after Homelander's ascension. Hearing how Firecracker was killed for being a non-believer, Deep agrees to lie and convince environmental activists to back off.
The super-killing virus is ready. The Boys plan to release it via an air freshener in the church where Homelander will give his next sermon. While Hughie and Annie set it up, The Legend takes the rest to Bombsight's elderly girlfriend, Golden Geisha. Kimiko is a fan as Goldie was the only female Asian super on TV when she was young.
A sober Ashley refuses to help Sage and is knocked out. Backtracking, Ashley mind-reads that Soldier Boy is proud of Homelander and plans to help him find the V1. Sage launches Phase Three and ditches Vought for good.
At the old age home, the Boys kidnap Goldie when she refuses to contact Bombsight. There is hardly any resistance from the retired supers. Kimiko doesn't want to kill anyone, but the others have no such qualms. Legend is upset that MM has become as cruel as Butcher and leaves.
Meanwhile, Annie delays their mission so she can watch the clouds with Hughie. She seems to have accepted her fate and finds his optimism endearing.
Sage leads Homelander and Soldier Boy into a trap. She has pulled up CCTV footage of a disabled Stormfront sexually pleasing Homelander. Soldier Boy is enraged that Homelander treated her this way. He refuses to listen when Homelander insists they both loved Stormfront and she wouldn't want them to fight.
At the church, Hughie and Annie sneak in and find Firecracker’s lifeless body and pictures of all the psychic supes. As they set up the virus, Oh-Father spots Annie. They knew each other and argue over faith. He knows she is stalling and attacks her with his sonic scream. Hughie bluffs that Annie is immune and he will release the virus. An amused Oh-Father lets them leave. But this means the air freshener plan has failed.
Sage offers to help the Boys and explains that she wants her solitude, which Homelander won’t allow. MM finds her insane, but the latter points out that they are both scheming the same thing, but she is honest about her genocidal plan. To avenge Bourke, Noir bursts the Alaskan pipeline, causing the biggest ecological disaster and killing billions of sea life. The fish disown Deep for approving the pipeline in the first place. Upset, Deep kills Noir.
Kimiko shares a moment with Goldie, and when Goldie learns they are after the V1, she is more than happy to help. Bombsight stole it for her, but she prefers living a short but fulfilled life. Kimiko gets it and reveals that both she and Annie don’t want to see their loved ones die while they stay immortal. This means the new plan is to destroy the V1.
Solo, Homelander goes after The Legend who breaks quite easily. However, all he leads the supe to is an empty base. Frustrated, Homelander wonders if the Angel!Madelyn’s “vision” has abandoned him. The Legend gives him a pep talk, not afraid of him. A surprised Homelander lets him go. But that’s not the only reason why. The Legend has accidentally let it slip that Goldie has a VoughtAlert tracker.
Elsewhere, Sage hints that Goldie will be tortured, and predictably, Bombsight shows up. He refuses to give the V1 as he hopes that one day, Goldie will change her mind. The Boys fight Bombsight and at one point, Goldie saves Kimiko. Sage texts Soldier Boy and boasts how people are always predictable. As expected, Soldier Boy arrives and fights Bombsight not only for the V1 but due to their old rivalry.
The fight moves on to the field outside and they hash out old wounds. They come to an understanding and Soldier Boy takes away Bombsight’s powers so he can live out the rest of his life with Goldie. In exchange, Bombsight gives him the V1.
Homelander arrives and Bombsight runs off. In a twist of events, Soldier Boy gives Homelander the V1. Stormfront was always chasing the idea of the ultimate supe, and Soldier Boy believes Homelander can help achieve her dream. Homelander injects the V1 and is unable to stop his laser eyes. Sage is shocked while Butcher tells them to run.
