The fourth episode of "The Death of Bunny Munro" unfurls in the aftermath of Poodle's tragic demise, where Bunny's nightmares paint a chilling picture of the Horned Killer wielding the cement mixer truck. In reality, however, Bunny finds himself a disheveled figure, sleeping by the side of the road, his mind consumed with the realization that he has left his son behind. The car is crippled, and his phone has run out of juice, leaving him a long, arduous journey back to the pub.

With cunning and deception, Bunny enlists the help of a couple of unsuspecting men to push his car to the nearest gas station. But when he discovers he has no money, he is caught in a bind. The stack of cash that was once in his bag has vanished, and he is forced to walk the rest of the way.
Arriving at the golf course, where he usually engages in his "Bunny shindig," things do not go as planned. The ladies mock him and eventually walk away, leaving him with an elderly lady to try and woo. When he sees Libby outside, he is spooked and leaves, but not before stealing some trinkets and her car.
Meanwhile, Bunny Junior is staying with Yvonne, the stripper from the previous episode's pub. When they arrive and find no sign of Bunny, Yvonne considers calling social services. However, Junior talks her out of it, and when they head out for shoe shopping, the cashier encourages her to get Junior some new shoes. She eventually settles on jelly sandals, but Junior is not too fussed.
Junior starts playing with Yvonne's child, Fred, and things seem to be going well for a while. However, Junior snaps and picks up a stone to throw at Fred's head, causing him to bleed. Back at Yvonne's house, she runs a bath for Junior and encourages him to get in. This act of kindness and Yvonne's bond with Fred are enough for Junior to consider the possibility of a different family.
Just as he is making this decision, Bunny arrives, and the kid caves in and decides to go with his dad after all. In the car, tension fills the air as Junior realizes that not only has his dad lost his car, but he has also left behind Junior's encyclopaedia and his eye cream. Junior is not pleased, and as they drive off, Bunny declares that they are heading up to see his grandfather so they can grieve for Bunny Senior.
