However, Abram buys her a stunning blue scarf and proposes marriage, and the two embark on building a life together and starting a family.
Twenty-five years later, Sarai and Abram remain childless. Sarai blames herself for her barrenness, but Abram reassures her with a steadfast belief in God's promise. That night, Abram hears the voice of God and experiences a profound moment of faith. The next morning, Sarai confronts Abram about his vision and struggles to believe him. Yet, Abram insists that God has promised them children. He urges her to follow him, and Sarai agrees to leave her family behind.
The couple, accompanied by their flock and people, embarks on a journey to the Levant. On the way, Sarai worries about the scarcity of food and water. Abram encourages her to have faith as they arrive in Egypt and set up camp by the majestic River Nile.
King Pharaoh approaches the river, and all the villagers bow except Sarai. Offended, Pharaoh takes her to his kingdom and questions her refusal to bow. Sarai boldly tells him she bows to no man, which further angers him. Pharaoh questions Sarai about her faith, and she insists she means no offense. Despite this, he decides to take her as his wife. To protect Abram, Sarai lies that he is her brother.
In this episode, we witness Sarai's indomitable spirit and Abram's steadfast faith as they navigate through challenges and uncertainties on their journey together.
Elsewhere, Hagar is assigned to serve Sarai, two women who find solace in their shared plight of being held captive by Pharaoh. That night, Sarai is summoned to Pharaoh's presence, where she attempts to attack him with a hairpin. However, he swiftly stops her, and when he tries to approach her, he suddenly suffers from nosebleeds and tremors. Believing that Sarai has cursed him, Pharaoh orders her to leave with Hagar.
The next morning, Sarai returns to Abram but cannot explain how she escaped. Hagar thanks Sarai for saving her and joins Abram and Sarai as they venture towards Canaan. In Canaan, Abram and Sarai begin to build a new life, with Hagar assisting Sarai in preparing for a child. However, time passes, and Sarai remains barren. Her desperation grows, and she begins to hear a baby's cry in her sleep.
Sarai calls out to God and questions his promise. One night, she tells Abram that it's time to accept that they may never have a child. Later, she finds Abram at the altar and learns that God has spoken to him again, promising many descendants.
The next morning, Sarai approaches Hagar and asks her to bear a child with Abram. She promises to help Hagar reunite with her family. Hagar agrees, and the two formalize the arrangement. That night, Sarai asks Abram to lie with Hagar. Though bewildered, he agrees to the arrangement. The following day, there's tension between the three as they come to terms with the decision.
Over time, Abram and Hagar grow closer, and eventually, Hagar becomes pregnant. The episode ends with Sarai and Abram learning that Hagar is carrying a boy.
