The Fiery Priest – K-drama Season 2 Episode 12 1

The hearing commences in a chaotic frenzy, resembling more a shouting match than a judicial process. Lacking concrete evidence, the session devolves into a battle of words, with each accusation from the Gudam crew met by Du-heon's smooth, plausible counter-narratives. He claims to have been undercover to apprehend Hong-sik, while threatening the customs officials' families forces them to retract their testimonies.

Day 1 concludes on a note of disappointment for the Gudam crew. Suddenly, officers combing through Polka Dot's apartment stumble upon a glowing red light—a beacon emanating from a router in the adjacent apartment, belonging to Du-heon. Ja-yeong unearths a shocking revelation: the router harbors Du-heon's cache of "honey jar" files, comprising compromising materials against high-ranking officials.

As Day 2 dawns, Hong-sik orchestrates a daring kidnapping of Assemblyman Lee, a jury member, using him as a conduit to infiltrate the hearing venue. Chairman Kim is in the midst of testifying in Du-heon's favor when Kyung-sun drops a bombshell, revealing the first honey jar file—a telephone conversation between Du-heon and Chairman Kim, wherein Kim pleadingly discusses his son's arrest and seeks the corrupt prosecutor's intervention.

What unfolds for Hong-sik and Du-heon is a dramatic sequence of events. At that precise moment, Hong-sik storms in and fires a warning shot, the echo reverberating through the air. Subsequently, he aims and shoots Du-heon, yet nothing substantial occurs. It transpires that the gun he purchased from a notorious dealer of fake weapons was loaded with only a solitary live bullet.

Further incensed, Hong-sik attempts to stab Du-heon, but Hae-il swiftly intervenes. With a punch, Hae-il halts Du-heon's escape and then engages in a fierce battle with Hong-sik, who remains steadfast in his intent to eliminate the prosecutor. Hae-il manages to knock out Hong-sik, who is subsequently apprehended by the authorities. Both Hae-il and Kyung-sun argue that being arrested is preferable to being killed, but Hong-sik merely sneers in response.

Du-heon is also taken into custody, as the honey jar and his confrontation with Hong-sik serve as compelling evidence. Outside, Reporter Ki is seen presenting a biased viewpoint, only to be knocked unconscious by Gu.

In the aftermath, the Gudam crew is elated, believing that God is on their side. They hand over Hong-sik's 100 billion to the national treasury, much to Gozhaev's chagrin. The seminary becomes an overnight sensation for taking down Boss Park, attracting far more applicants for the next intake than initially agreed upon.

Chae is busy packing and reflects on his final meeting with Hae-il. He is confident in Chae's ordination and presents him with a framed photograph of them as a parting gift, hoping it will ignite his fighting spirit whenever needed.

Ja-yeong and Gu visit their family clan and are greeted with grand celebrations. Kyung-sun's boss scolds her for her confrontations with other prosecutors, but she dismisses it as she resigns from her position.

A chaplain from the Vatican acknowledges the Gudam crew's efforts in the fight for justice, and they eagerly pose for a group photo. They even Photoshop Gozhaev and Ja-yeong into the picture. Ja-yeong is delighted to see the photo, while Gozhaev is touched by his inclusion.

That evening, Gu, Hae-il, and Kyung-sun gather for a drink. Hae-il is set to visit the Pope for two weeks, and like Kyung-sun, Gu wishes to accompany him, now unemployed due to his conflicts with the Busan officers. Hae-il suggests that Kyung-sun consider joining the National Assembly, dreaming of her ascending to the position of minister and even the presidency. Initially hesitant, she eventually embraces the idea, and the scene cuts to her campaign, with the Gudam crew lending their support.

The results are finally announced, but in his excitement, Yo-han accidentally spills his drink onto an electric outlet, causing a power outage that brings an abrupt end to the celebration.

Where could Hae-il be found at this hour? As night enveloped the Gudam church, Hae-il performed his duty by securing its doors and preparing for rest, methodically taking his medication. In the quiet of his chamber, he offered up a prayer, his mind wandering to the steadfast and passionate souls who harbored dreams of transforming the world.

The scene abruptly shifts to a distressing one—a gang menacing a helpless girl. Just when hope seemed all but lost, Hae-il's figure emerged like a guardian angel, his fists flying with relentless fury against the assailants.

The epilogue of "The Fiery Priest" Season 2, Episode 12, reveals a profound twist: the Pope himself has reached out, seeking Hae-il's indomitable spirit in the face of adversity. The world is ripe with places crying out for warriors like him. With a warm invitation extended, the chaplain beckons Hae-il to the hallowed halls of the Vatican. Hae-il's face breaks into a broad smile, a testament to the promise of new adventures and the fulfillment of his calling.
