The Judge Returns – K-drama Episode 6 1

Jun-ho has previously rejected all of Yoo Seon-cheol's proposals, but Han-young, now armed with more knowledge, wants Se-hui to back his plan. This time, he's calling the shots, which catches her off guard. With the Justice System in disarray, Han-young hasn't forgotten his task for Shin-jin to dig up dirt on Wu Gyo-hun, which also ties directly into Jun-ho.

Meanwhile, Kim Jin-ah joins the district's office with a determination to take down Tae-sik with legitimate evidence. This marks the beginning of her journey to go after S-Group. Yi-seok sends shockwaves across the court officials when he exposes the corruption and decides there will be no special favors given to those named in the ledger.

Shin-jin, who has the backing of the Presidential cabinet, is not deterred but this also puts a big target on Seok's back. Han-young then speaks to Shin-jin and promises to take down the Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Gyo-hun. He plans to go after Jun-ho's son, who's using drugs in the US. Similarly, Gyo-hun's sister is also taking drugs, which, given Korea's strict laws on drugs, could be disastrous if this information were to be leaked.

In exchange for these juicy details, Han-young asks to be transferred to Jun-ho. He wants to become his legal advisor at Haenal and Shin-jin agrees. Next, Yi-seok decides to put Han-young on a special case regarding the Nammyeon District sinkhole. Opinions on this case are highly divided, especially considering the number of fatalities involved.

Interestingly, this case also ties into Gyo-hun as well. It seems he may have taken a hefty chunk of change from Taemyung Construction, a company that monopolizes all district construction projects. The drama unfolds as each character navigates their respective agendas and alliances within the chaotic judicial system.

The true narrative will unfold only after the current administration fades away, revealing that the District Mayor, Jong-jin, was once the leader of the Obok Gang and a right-hand man for the head of Taemyung Construction. The judge ruled in favor of a flawed sewage construction by Taemyung, but the District Office emerged victorious in the subsequent casualty lawsuit.

At the office, Se-hui arrives to assist Han-young with the Jun-ho drama. She is aware that Tae-sik is untouchable and needs to act swiftly to help Jin-ah build her case. Han-young sends incriminating photos of the Assemblyman's daughter to Jun-ho and enlists Se-hui to keep him busy before presenting the physical evidence.

Han-young is cunning. Along with taking down Gyo-hun, he also blackmails Jun-ho into submission. Han-young leverages this, combined with Se-hui's connections at Haenal Law Firm, to coerce him into cooperating. With the US office at his disposal, he has no choice but to do as Han-young says.

As for Se-hui, Han-young promises to help her take over Haenal Law Firm, ousting her siblings and parents to gain power. It's a tempting offer, and Han-young also promises Jun-ho that despite his underhanded tactics, he won't be hurt if they work together.

Meanwhile, Song Na-yeon gets involved in the protest for the sinkhole case, managing to calm the mob by genuinely listening to the victim's father. She takes the time to understand the victims and looks at old pictures together.

Na-yeon also shows up at the station and, in front of Se-hui (who asks Han-young out first), he agrees to go for food with her. However, these plans are interrupted when she receives a call from one of the victims.

The District Mayor has sent thugs to his place, determined to threaten the victim's father into submission. As Na-yeon rushes out to the house, Han-young steps in to prevent her from getting beaten, sending his friend to take the Mayor's thug out.

Han-young himself follows the District Mayor late at night and crashes his car. Tying him up and taking him to the construction yard, Han-young prepares to bury him alive as his thugs and the victim's father watch on.

Han-young eventually kills the guy, ending his reign of terror.
