Elsewhere, Maggie and Hayley are driving to L.A. to see Mickey. Hayley is sad, but Maggie tries to cheer her up by explaining that Mickey requested a speedy trial.

Back at Haller and Associates, Lorna is drowning in her attempts to convince their clients to stay. Unfortunately, the extensive media coverage of Mickey’s case has cost them many clients, and they are now financially struggling.

Elsewhere, Cisco is looking into possible suspects that might have framed Mickey. Sadly, so far he has only hit dead-ends. Lorna has also been trying, but the prosecutor is not playing ball on handing over the discovery.

In prison, Mickey recruits a fellow inmate, Bamba, to keep him safe. Ahead of his hearing, Lorna and Cisco meet with him to discuss the case. Mickey is optimistic that the new Deputy DA is unprepared for such a case. He wants to question Officer Collin himself and hold off on the bail hearing. According to Mickey, bail will be too costly, and he is hopeful that he can serve two more months in jail as long as he gets a speedy trial.

Meanwhile, Izzy makes a new friend, Grace, in her class. Grace invites her to hang out with their classmates later that evening, and Izzy promises to consider attending.

In court, the prosecution makes a sudden change and brings in Dana Berg, a more seasoned prosecutor. Apparently, she is so tough that she has earned the nickname ‘Death Row Dana.’ Upon hearing this, Lorna starts to panic.

During the hearing, Mickey steps in to assist Lorna as he is permitted to represent himself. He challenges the traffic stop and notes that the prosecutor has been obstructing their efforts to question Officer Collins. Lorna accuses the prosecution of attempting to secure a grand jury indictment, thereby denying them the opportunity to question Officer Collins. She also mentions that the prosecutor has not provided footage of the traffic stop arrest. In response, Dana claims that there were some technical difficulties that have just been resolved. Mickey also attempts to get Dana to stop referring to him as the defendant, but the judge disregards his request. Additionally, the judge warns Dana about delaying discovery and insists that Officer Collins appear at the next hearing.

After the hearing, Lorna meets with Maggie to update her on the case. Lorna is second-guessing herself and is on edge due to Dana's arrival. Maggie reassures her that she is doing well and gives her a tip on how to handle Dana. The conversation then shifts to Mickey, and they express concern about his unusual, optimistic approach to the case.

Back in prison, Mickey calls his mother, who informs him that she is getting married to her manager and hopes he will be released in time to walk her down the aisle. Cisco drops by to show Mickey the dashboard footage Dana sent of his arrest. However, Mickey requests the entire footage from the moment Officer Collins began following him. He wants to understand what prompted the focus on him and tells Cisco to have Lorna file another motion.

Lorna tries to convince their remaining clients that she is qualified to handle their case, but sadly, none of them believe her. After Cisco leaves, Maggie and Hayley visit Mickey. The harsh reality of his situation hits him when he is referred to as a number. He asks Maggie not to bring Hayley to see him again, as he doesn't want her to see him as an inmate.

Returning to the office, Lorna secures a new client, Celeste, who seeks legal aid for her divorce. A trusted referral leads her to Lorna, who readily accepts the case. Meanwhile, Izzy arrives at the party to find it deserted, with Grace patiently waiting for her arrival.

As the day winds down, Cisco returns to the office and congratulates Lorna on acquiring a new client. She informs him that Dana had sent over a copy of the video after their call. It becomes evident that Maggie's advice played a crucial role. They watch the video and realize that Officer Collins received a text message right before he zeroed in on Mickey.

In the video, it's clear that he was waiting for Mickey even before noticing the missing license plate. They deduce that someone must have tipped off Officer Collins, leading to Mickey's targeting.

In jail, the nightly roll call continues, forcing Mickey to confront his new reality - a system where he's just another number.
