The Lincoln Lawyer – Season 4 Episode 4

Published: Mar 06 2026

The episode begins with Mickey and Cisco heading out to the address Austin provided, hoping to uncover something that might exonerate the man. As they arrive, the search commences, and Mickey's eyes catch an army jacket, triggering a flashback to a meeting with Sam. During that meeting, Sam had confessed to pickpocketing, which had ignited his appetite for bigger cons.

Back at the scene, Cisco spots a semi-truck manual book, while Mickey finds a Post-it study guide. He believes it's part of the con game Sam was involved in. The evidence is scarce, and it dawns on Mickey that someone is cleverly covering their tracks.

Feeling frustrated with the lack of progress, Mickey tells the landlady that she can dispose of anything she wants to cover for Sam's rental arrears. Cisco is hesitant about this move, but Mickey is tired of playing fair with the prosecution.

Back in the courtroom, Dana reveals that they haven't found the lost wallet. She explains that Sam's body was kept in the refrigerator crypt for over 12 hours before the mortuary attendant performed the autopsy. Anyone could have accessed the body and taken the wallet at that point. She notes that the damage is equal on both sides. However, Mickey points out that the same detective who is leading the case is the one who lost the wallet. Lorna is confused as she thought they should be fighting for sanctions, but Mickey tells her that they have what they need.

Next, Bamba takes Mickey to pick up his car, as he wants to meet with Pat's Retrofitting team at Hawthorne. The team walks Mickey and Izzy through its customization process for wheelchair drivers. Mickey requests the list of recent clients but is told that they cannot disclose such information due to HIPAA regulations. They also cannot recall a client by the name of Kirk Lennon. Luckily, Mickey reaches out to an underpaid employee to get the entire list of clients.

Mickey contacts Lorna, letting her know that they've got the list of clients; they had to bribe an employee. After running through the given list, Cisco narrows it down to a particular address in San Pedro. This Biogreen company makes biofuel from biowaste. Mickey suspects a potential connection between the company and Sam's latest con scheme. Later, Maggie visits Mickey's office while Lorna goes to meet a client.

Afterwards, Maggie rushes to meet Dana, pressing her for answers about her pursuit of Mickey. She questions if it's a payback, but Dana firmly denies it. She reveals that a bullet was found in Mickey's garage and Sam's body in his car's trunk, claiming that all the evidence points back at him. Enraged, Maggie storms out.

Meanwhile, Izzy dives deep into Biogreen and discovers that most of these start-ups fail without government subsidies. Mickey refers to these scams that target the government as 'Bleeding the Beast'. Izzy finds an article talking about such scams, but although it was meant to be a series, the writer only wrote one article.

Izzy meets with a writer under false pretenses to ask more about biofuel and its potential for fraud. Sha also asks about his sources. The writer offers to give her contact information to his source and explains that he received a cease-and-desist warning from the FBI, which is why he didn't do a follow-up. This motivates Mickey to delve deeper and uncover the hidden agenda within the FBI. He decides to meet with Judge Stone and asks him to sign a court order to serve the FBI.

Maggie comes in with Hayley and informs Mickey that their daughter has been getting bullied online, which appears to have a connection to Mickey's ongoing murder case. Maggie asks him to let Hayley stay at his place as she feels it's safe for her. Mickey goes to Judge Stone for a signature, which he signs off without hesitation.

With the court order signed, Cisco and Mickey make their way to the FBI headquarters but the receptionist refuses to take it. They stick the order on the glass as the lady calls security. Three agents come out, and two push Mickey back while one rips off the envelope. Cisco takes a photo as evidence that the court order has been served. Maggie comes looking for Mickey to drop off some Hayley stuff.

Lorna is sad because her presentation was a disaster, which has angered her new client, Sydney. However, she belatedly realized in court that Sydney had lied to her. Later, Hayley and Mickey are having dinner when Agent Ruth and Agent Vasquez show up. Vasquez asks Mickey why he's sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, making it clear they don't want Mickey to ever serve them with a court order.

While Cisco had not repaired Mickey's security cameras, Hayley recorded the mildly violent encounter with her phone. The video serves as a smoking gun against the FBI, and Mickey informs Cisco that he knows why the FBI is coming after him.
