Meanwhile, Siv finds herself ostracized by Oscar and the guys just as she's all dolled up, eagerly anticipating a rendezvous with Oscar. Understandably, she's fuming but decides to show up at the bar anyway, accompanied by Ingrid. When Siv finally confronts Oscar, he spills the beans: he's upset about her dishonesty regarding the Monica case, where she took all the credit for herself. Moreover, he's livid about her nearly jeopardizing his job with a flimsy tip-off.

Back at the police station, Carin has a chat with Katina, who arrives at the station looking worried. Jack is convinced that Katina was the one who tipped off the cops about the raid, and now her life is hanging by a thread. Katina pleads for Carin's assistance, and after some initial hesitation, Carin eventually relents and agrees to help.

As Carin waits outside to meet Katina, Reimer unexpectedly shows up and questions her motives. Just then, Arne arrives on the scene and introduces himself, defusing the tension and smoothing things over. However, his arrival also throws a wrench into Carin's plans with Katina.

Arne then takes Carin to meet his mother, but unfortunately, the encounter doesn't go as smoothly as hoped. As they walk away from the apartment, Carin opens up about her past, revealing that her father is violent—a difficult truth for her to confront. The pair then share a heartfelt embrace and exchange "I love yous," offering a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.

On another front, District Chief Svard finds himself under immense pressure from both his superiors and Jack. Not only is he being blackmailed into submission, but he's also facing backlash because several female officers have resigned, tarnishing the department's reputation. Svard is given a stern directive to ensure that no one else leaves, but as he soon discovers, that's easier said than done.

One of the latest individuals eyeing an exit is Ingrid. Having witnessed firsthand how Wallin abuses his authority, she finds herself contemplating a departure from the force, yearning for a fresh start elsewhere. Fortunately, Berg steps in as a beacon of hope, engaging in a heartfelt conversation with Ingrid in the sanctity of her office. Acknowledging Wallin's reputation as a formidable officer to align with, Berg pledges to do everything within her power to facilitate Ingrid's transfer to another officer's team. Yet, she cautions that such a transition may not happen overnight.

For the time being, Ingrid remains tethered to Wallin and Oscar as they embark on a mission to dismantle an illegal cinema. In the heat of the moment, Ingrid finds herself drawing her gun on a man, compelling him to halt. The incident leaves an indelible mark on her psyche.

Back at home, Siv's fury simmers at Carin's reckless endangerment of their livelihoods. Just then, Katina arrives, patiently waiting for Carin. As they step out onto the bustling streets together, Carin's eyes catch sight of Reimer cozying up to another man in a pub. Their gazes lock for a fleeting moment before Carin hastily looks away, prompting them to part ways in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Katina divulges that she's inquired among the girls and uncovered a crucial piece of information: one of them witnessed Jack and Monica engaged in a heated altercation in the street on the fateful night of Monica's demise. The confrontation ended with Monica hailing a taxi and disappearing into the night, while Jack trailed closely behind her.

Now, Jack is hot on Katina's trail. Unfortunately, fate takes a dark turn when a mysterious man shows up at Katina's flat that night, forcing the pair to make a hasty escape. Carin is left reeling when she discovers that Katina has made off with a substantial bag of money.

While Katina manages to evade capture, Carin's luck runs out. She finds herself at Jack's mercy, who tightens his grip around her neck and issues a chilling ultimatum that night. As the life is choked out of her, Carin reluctantly confesses that Katina had used her as a pawn in stealing the money. Now, Carin is saddled with a debt she can't possibly repay alone: 15,000 kronor, which Jack demands she produce within two days.
