The episode begins with a flashback to the day Brian Mott met his demise. It emerges that Monroe had been blackmailing Brian to obtain the presidential daily briefings from Jenny. Jenny had wanted to quit the deal, but Brian couldn't afford to back out. He needed the money for his child's cancer treatment. As tensions escalated, Chelsea intervened, and Brian ended up dead.

In the present, Isabel refuses to believe Monroe's intentions to keep her safe. She fears for Peter's safety and blames her father. Monroe reveals that he has leverage over Freya, sharing more about her clients and revealing that Freya represents the financial interests of rich criminals like Zapata. He insists that Freya is behind the murder of Mike and ordered the hit on them. He also tells her that the fairy tale book is the key to accessing a cloud database containing documents that can stop Freya. He's ready to turn himself in and help with the investigation to protect Isabel. Adam interrupts and reports that there has been no luck in finding Peter. Mosley orders Adam to find more information on the next LFS attack. This is when Monroe offers to talk to Hutson and get things moving. He, more than anyone, wants to find Zapata, as he blames the guy for what happened with Isabel's mother.
At the motel, the son is disappointed that his dad is leaving him for another spy adventure. To pacify him, the father gives him the codename "Orion." Before leaving, the son asks to get something from the car. Meanwhile, Adam calls the President and briefs him on Monroe's suggestion. Although skeptical, Hagan agrees to help Monroe secretly meet with Hutson. He shares everything with Jenny, who grows more anxious that her secret is about to be exposed.
After leaving the motel, the father makes his way to the place where he's currently holding Peter. He uses a truth serum to get Peter to confess. Peter tells him that he's a night agent and admits he feels like a fraud. He also reveals that he's scared, lonely, and struggling with his past, especially when it comes to his father. After a moment of silence, the father comforts Peter and promises to help him get through this.
At the White House, Chelsea is furious when she discovers that Theo expressed concern for her well-being. It turns out Jenny also reported the same and added that Chelsea had Brian's phone. Chelsea tries to explain her motive for taking the phone and her suspicions, but Hagan remains unmoved.
However, Patterson promptly placed her on disciplinary leave, pending further investigation. As she left, Chelsea encountered Jenny, who continued to feign concern. Chelsea refused to back down and warned her that she was running out of time. She insisted that the truth would eventually come out. Speaking of the truth, Monroe secretly met with Hutson on his way to prison. Hutson snitched on Zapata to save his own life and gain his freedom. He provided Monroe with three possible locations where Zapata might be hiding and also revealed that the LFS was working with a New Jersey shipping company for their next attack. Monroe relayed this information to Adam. Eventually, the father obtained Jay's current location from a drugged-up Peter. He arrived at the hospital and noticed his son's dice from the Dungeons & Dragons game in the boot of his car. He quickly realized that his son had followed him to the secret house. Instead of killing Jay, he headed back.
Meanwhile, Peter convinced the son that he and the father were partners running a training exercise. By the time the father arrived, he found Peter on his way out. The two were locked in an emotional and psychological stalemate. Peter leveraged the father's love for his son to appeal to his human conscience. In the end, the father agreed to stop hunting Peter and the others.
Back at Peter's house, Adam reported that Hutson's intel had checked out, and it was time to deliver Monroe to D.C. Monroe tried to make things right with Isabel, but she pushed him away again.
At the White House, Jenny finally came clean to her husband about her ties with Monroe. On the other hand, Chelsea packed up and left Theo.
Monroe tried to make a deal with Adam as they drove to an FBI field office. Initially, Adam turned him down until he received a call, presumably from Hagan. He agreed to Monroe's offer and drove him to one of his safehouses. Monroe was under the impression that Adam was about to help him flee. He opened his safe and retrieved his passport. Unfortunately, Adam shot him at close range and staged a suicide. Just then, Peter called Adam, and the latter asked him to come meet him at Monroe's house.
