In the 14th episode of The Pitt, Robby reminds everyone to finish their paperwork so they can go home. However, Whitaker loses his ID badge somewhere in the hospital, and spends most of the episode searching for it. As he heads out to the ambulance bay, Javadi uses an empty area of the ER to post another video. When Robby catches her, he reprimands her, but she counters with a mention of the ICE agents and the chaos that's been happening around the hospital.

Later in the episode, McKay explains that Javadi was actually using her phone to try and locate Jesse. Langdon gets a glimpse into Robby's mood, still desperately trying to earn his approval and make amends for past actions. He learns that Robby may be angry with himself for failing Langdon.
Duke is getting restless and wants to leave, and he's not the only one. With more records needing to be digitized and some of the staff leaving after a long day, Monica at the front desk says goodbye to everyone. She reminds Dana that she's the "Mama Bear" who holds everything together, but Dana can hardly contain her worry about Robby. When Abbott speaks to her, Dana encourages him to have a word with Robby and convince him to come back from his sabbatical in one piece.
Speaking of which, there's another sign in the ambulance bay about Robby's doomed trip, when another ambulance comes in and crashes straight into the two parked motorcycles. One of them, of course, is Robby's. But Robby doesn't learn about this until later in the episode, as he continues to firefight, moving between different wards and helping to fix minor (but life-threatening) issues, like the ECG being in the wrong position.
As for Duke, Robby explained that he required surgery. The recovery period would likely be around three months, but due to his age, it would be closer to six. If he chose to delay the surgery, Duke had a 50% chance of death. If he stubbornly refused to proceed, Robby warned that Duke would suffer from shortness of breath and pass out from blood loss if he died.
Robby knew that this surgery was necessary but was also worried that if he wasn't there to motivate Duke, he wouldn't attend his appointments and might abandon the treatment altogether. Speaking of abandoning, Baran continued her disappearing act, and Robby was concerned. As he set out to try and find her, there was an incident with Mohan that Caleb overheard. Given Orlando's need for surgery, Robby quipped that he should have found a taller roof to jump off of.
Caleb called Robby out on it later and told him to keep his number handy while he was away. As Robby headed outside, he found that his motorcycle had been clipped and was pretty pissed off. The damage seemed to be only cosmetic, especially when Duke did a quick inspection, but the patients kept coming in.
In the bay, Duke spoke plainly to Robby after overseeing a particularly tense and risky procedure to help a spinal injury patient, where Langdon took the lead and even received a "good job" from Robby. Unfortunately, Langdon ended up being late for his urine screening and had to rush upstairs.
Duke spoke to Robby about his regrets and the bad things he'd done in the past. He explained that death can't be changed and knew that the way Robby was talking, he was going down a dark path. Robby opened up here and explained that he didn't want to be there anymore and that inside the ER, he could be distracted from the demons in his life. He wasn't sure if he wanted to be anywhere anymore.
Robby's plan was to just ride away from everything and keep running. Duke, however, cut through the BS and asked him whether that was really the lesson he wanted to give to those who looked up to him. Back in the ER, Robby chewed out a couple of the ambulance crew for messing up the ECG tabs. The women were relieved that Robby spoke up before Baran took over.
The patient in question was Baran herself, with the charts revealing that she had experienced seizures for over 30 years after enduring a severe case of viral meningitis as a child. Robby was pretty shocked when he found this out.
