The eighth episode of "The Price of Confession" commences with Yun-su's heart-wrenching conversation with Mo Eun at the hospital, her disbelief that Se-hun is truly gone echoing in the air. Driven by her emotions, she speeds to Se-hun's house, where a sea of faces gathers as his body is solemnly carried out. Jeong-gu, also present, catches her eye, but she turns away without a word, her heart heavy.

Inside the house, Baek Dong-hun and Detective Ryu delve into the scene, the detective revealing that Se-hun was on trial two years ago for a crime that, though unspoken, left a victim and her father taking their own lives. Yun-su, shaken to her core, asks Mun-jun to keep Sop with her for a few days as she seeks solace.
The autopsy reveals that Se-hun was strangled but ultimately perished from a stab wound. Yun-su decides to delve into Pudgy's involvement, her steps heavy as she heads to Poojim Bakery, Pudgy's workplace. As Pudgy steps away for a break, Yun-su confronts her with a taser, examining her phone with a fierce intensity. But her search yields nothing. Pudgy insists that Mo Eun is a good person and only asked her to keep an eye on Yun-su.
Meanwhile, Detective Ryu digs deeper into the victim, Kang So-mang, and her family. So-mang had an older sister, Kang So-hae, who studied medicine in Germany and worked at a refugee camp in Thailand before meeting an untimely end in a car accident.
Dong-hun's own research unveils the gruesome truth: Se-hun had gotten So-mang drunk, raped her, and even filmed the heinous act. Despite his confession, the case was tainted by his family's influence, and the blame was unfairly shifted to the girl. Se-hun then sent the video to everyone So-mang knew, triggering her suicide. A flashback shows Se-hun sending a text message to So-mang, revealing his plan to send the video as revenge. Moments later, she jumps from the roof of a building, and her father follows suit soon after.
Dong-hun, burdened with the weight of his knowledge on the case, traverses to Mo Eun's presence. He reads aloud a portion of the case where So-mang's colleague, an enigmatic figure dubbed 'P', reveals her advances towards Se-hun and her former occupation as an escort. This revelation swayed the court's decision in favor of Se-hun.
Dong-hun then brings forth Mo Eun's skewed polygraph test, accusing her of a lie concerning her identity. He posits that Mo Eun is actually Kang So-hae and that another person perished in the car accident in Thailand! He further asserts that she is not the culprit behind Ki-dae's demise. It is at this juncture that Dong-hun receives a call from Detective Ryu, who informs him that the hair found at the crime scene is a match for An Yun-su. However, Mo Eun asserts that Yun-su did not commit the crime against Se-hun.
Meanwhile, Reporter Hong receives an anonymous tip, revealing a past entanglement between Ko Se-hun and Mo Eun.
As Mo Eun returns to the prison, she witnesses Hui-yeong conversing with a young man during their designated visitation hours. The boy studies Mo Eun intently. Post this encounter, Mo Eun inquires Hui-yeong about her comment on Se-hun's parents deserving divine retribution. It dawns on her that Hui-yeong is indeed 'P', the individual Dong-hun was referring to. In a fit of fury, Mo Eun launches an attack on Hui-yeong, attempting to strangle her but is restrained.
Now, Detective Ryu and Dong-hun possess sufficient evidence to arrest Yun-su. By monitoring her movements over the past few days and Sun-deok's revelation about the malfunctioning ankle monitor, their suspicions intensify.
Yun-su returns home from the bakery to a surprise visit from Mr Ko, who forcibly enters her residence. He presents her with a photograph of herself at Se-hun's house, sent anonymously. Despite his claim of merely wanting to talk, he makes a move to attack her. She manages to evade him and makes a beeline for her car, driving away into the night. Since it is past 10 pm, her ankle monitor begins beeping incessantly, but she ignores Sun-deok's phone calls.
As she journeys along, her gaze falls upon a news report, a chilling snippet announcing that her hair has been discovered at the scene of Se-hun's tragic demise. The sound of sirens pierces the air, and she weaves through traffic lights, finally pulling into a convenience store. There, amidst the hasty movements of the few patrons, she seizes a knife and swiftly cuts off her ankle bracelet.
In the confines of the prison, Hui-yeong receives some measure of medical attention while Mo Eun is consigned to a solitary cell. As Officer Eom escorts Hui-yeong back to her cell, her attention wavers for a moment, a mere fraction of a second but enough for Hui-yeong to spot a long, ominous black wire lying nearby. Seizing the opportunity, she cunningly ties the wire around her neck and leaps from the railing, her body arcing in a tragic dance. The episode concludes with Mo Eun watching from her cell, her eyes locked on the struggling figure below, trapped in a dance of fate and despair.
