The sixth episode of "The Runarounds" kicks off with the group eagerly anticipating a screening of their homemade movies from their previous Wizard of Oz-inspired escapade, an experience that Charlie believes has forged stronger bonds among them. Yet, amidst this nostalgic joy, a tinge of bittersweetness lingers for some, as members of the band start envisioning horizons beyond their current setup.
Determined to keep the band intact, Charlie devises a plan to intensify their musical endeavors and create a masterpiece of an album. Meanwhile, George's suspicions towards Sophia escalate, particularly after her recent road trip with the band. Matters worsen as Charlie and Sophia find themselves deeply engaged in musical conversations and sharing quality moments, culminating in Charlie inviting her over to his place.
Neil, carrying his guitar, arrives at Phoebe's doorstep only to be crushed when he discovers her in bed with another man. The awkwardness intensifies as Neil, unable to contain his emotions, has a minor tantrum outside. His rejection does not sit well with Neil, who responds by giving the middle finger to Phoebe's lover before storming off.
Back at home, Finn is taken aback when real estate agents arrive to snap pictures of their house. Inside, Charlie and his sister find themselves bickering, despite Charlie's desire for her assistance in portraying a picture-perfect family for Sophia's arrival. It's amusing, six episodes deep, to see Charlie still trying to be someone different just to impress a girl.
Sophia's arrival prompts Charlie to don Finn's jacket, a gesture that inspires him to pen some lyrics with her. The creative synergy between them is palpable, igniting a genuine spark. This connection makes Sophia realize that she needs to end things with George, as she doesn't feel the same way about him.
Armed with the lyrics, the band members arrive at Catesby's attic only to discover their gear has vanished without a trace. Catesby's absence since yesterday hints at an unwelcome visitor - a thief. Bender scolds Pete for relying on outdated methods to secure gigs, urging him to embrace social media to broaden the band's reach. Pete admits he hadn't considered this, despite jestingly dubbing himself their social media manager five episodes prior, a role he seemingly neglected.
The heart of the dilemma lies in the stolen equipment, complicated by Catesby's arrival for dinner at Charlie's invitation. The atmosphere is tense, with Finn relentlessly questioning Catesby's life decisions. Elsewhere, Wyatt returns home to an unexpected visitor - Spider, the debt collector from earlier. Wendy's betrayal is revealed; she disclosed Wyatt's hideout and the location of the band's gear. Furious, Wyatt lashes out at his mother before resolving to confront Spider to rectify the situation.
Wyatt rushes to inform the band of the turn of events. They collectively decide to confront Spider at Mala Noche, the club he runs, to reclaim their equipment. Spider remains steadfast, proposing they play at his club instead. If the audience takes a shine to them, they'll become the house band, performing weekly until Wyatt's mother settles her debts.
The band performs a revved-up version of 'Valerie,' successfully winning over the crowd. Their hard work pays off, but they stumble into another predicament when Spider reneges on his promise, locking them inside the club. Despite his assurances of returning their gear, Spider betrays them, leaving them stranded.
The group manages to break free and reclaim their instruments, but this bold maneuver ignites a thrilling chase down the road as Spider desperately tries to track them down. The law enforcement officers, however, lie in wait, and the pursuit culminates in Spider's arrest for discharging a firearm. The remaining members of the group narrowly escape.
Footage of the ensemble's electric performance at the club quickly spreads across social media, providing Bender with the perfect opportunity to capitalize on the buzz. She gives the clip a promotional twist, adding her own flair to it.
Meanwhile, Catesby makes an appearance at Hannah's lecture. He apologizes for the uncomfortable dinner and confronts her about Charlie's parentage. Hannah rises above the situation and, despite the fact that Catesby is Charlie's biological father, asserts that she has no compelling reason for him to know.
Upon discovering her pregnancy, Hannah had driven to Nashville to confront Catesby, only to find him in bed with another woman. Heartbroken, she decided to drive back home and erase him from her life – or so she thought. However, as they stand face to face, Catesby confesses that he still cares deeply for her and leans in for a kiss. She pulls away abruptly and hurries off, leaving him behind.
