In the desolate wilderness, their car succumbs to mechanical failure, leaving them stranded. Amidst this dire situation, the police arrive, reminiscent of the doomed Bonnie and Clyde, and arrest the pair as they exchange a final glance.

The narrative shifts to Pakistan in 1975, where Charles and Marie, utilizing Ajay's connections, seek refuge. Their humble abode serves as a stark contrast to their current predicament, as they struggle to scrape a living. Charles attempts to broker an international deal with prospective French buyers, but the clock is ticking for this desperate duo.

Ajay's unexpected arrival shakes Marie's composure, her anger mounting as he reveals the unwelcome truth—she's merely a shadow of Juliette, Charles's former wife. This revelation ignites a fiery confrontation between Marie and Ajay, their altercation echoing throughout the building. News of this tumultuous encounter reaches Charles, and the trio soon engages in a heated altercation.

A call from France signals the potential success of Charles's deal, yet his tone betrays a cold calculation. He informs the caller that only two individuals will be greeting her upon her arrival, hinting at Ajay's imminent exclusion. Without hesitation, Charles banishes Ajay from the operation, literally showering him with money as a dismissive gesture.

Meanwhile, Herman's nerves are frayed, his nights haunted by disturbing dreams. His volatile behavior alienates him from his colleagues at the embassy. The Ambassador, though supportive, warns Herman to exercise caution and remain inconspicuous, questioning his loyalty to the firm.

Eventually, after much deliberation, he commanded Knippenberg to embark on a three-week holiday, bidding Bangkok farewell. Angela, observing her partner's troubled state, concurred, urging him to seize the Ambassador's offer. As he sought to unwind, Herman was abruptly jolted by a call from Nadine, informing him that Gautier's apartment had been leased, potentially erasing any lingering evidence. Angela, with a flash of intuition, realized the gravity of the situation and urged him to gather his things.

Back in Bangkok, the makeshift crew ventured into the apartment, intent on scrutinizing every inch. Their thorough search yielded a trove of narcotics, concealed within innocuous antibiotic bottles, along with a cache of poisons. Amidst this trove, they stumbled upon Marie's diary, in which she referred to Alain by his true name—Charles. This discovery opened a floodgate of new information, as they delved deeper into the specifics of Marie's journal.

Herman's resolve was unwavering, driven by a relentless pursuit of truth. And eventually, with Bastien's help, he uncovered the truth. Bastien provided them with the address to Charles' family, their sights now firmly set on Paris. The plot was thickening, and the stakes were rising. The journey had become increasingly intriguing!
