Episode 3 of *To The Moon* opens with Da-hae recounting her tumultuous housing journey over the years—shifting from a dimly lit boarding room to a foul-smelling one-room apartment, and finally settling into her current studio. Now, her landlord delivers the unwelcome news of a rent hike, thrusting her back into the tiresome cycle of searching for a new place.
On her commute to work, Da-hae feels a throbbing pain in her forehead, though she can't recall bumping heads with Ham Ji-woo just yet. Along the way, she joins her friends and discovers that Ji-song has snagged a bargain flight ticket to China. Concern washes over her, fearing that Wei Lin might be cheating on her. Meanwhile, Eun-sang is contemplating attending a college reunion, but only because a complimentary box of black garlic awaits—a commodity she plans to resell for a tidy profit.
Da-hae then crosses paths with Da-hee and extends an apology for her behavior from the previous night. At work, Ji-woo sports a conspicuous band-aid on his forehead. As Da-hae and her team deliberate over the packaging for a new product, Ji-woo saunters into the room. He drops subtle hints in Da-hae's direction until she finally pieces together what transpired.
A flashback reveals that after head-butting Ji-woo, she vehemently declared that she too had preferences and wouldn't settle for just the cheapest option. In a private conversation, Da-hae apologizes for striking him. Ji-woo brings up the song she's fond of once more before abruptly asking if she has a boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Kang Eun-sang has set up a makeshift store at her desk, stocking her right-hand drawer with an array of items that office-goers might suddenly need—from lozenges to stockings and energy drinks. She leverages this to earn extra cash and even exacts revenge on Soo-jin, the office bully who had tormented Ji-song in the previous episode. Eun-sang plasters seizure stickers all over her belongings, knowing Soo-jin owes her money.
In the accounting department, Manager Oh Dong-gyu proposes a lunch outing and insists that Ji-song joins them. At the restaurant, Dong-gyu's behavior towards Ji-song leads onlookers to assume they are dating. Ji-song swiftly sets the record straight, clarifying that she already has a boyfriend.
Elsewhere, Da-hae confides in Eun-sang, admitting that she had deceived Ji-woo by claiming to have a boyfriend. As it turns out, Ji-woo had generously given her two tickets to a live music extravaganza, urging her to bring her so-called beau along. When this intriguing piece of news filters through to Ji-song, she springs into action with a seemingly straightforward fix — finding a blind date for Da-hae! To accomplish this, Ji-song orchestrates a photo session at Da-hae's abode, where they all pose for snapshots. Later, she skillfully photoshops these images to resemble idyllic vacation snapshots.
The following day, Da-hae stumbles upon information about an apartment located a stone's throw away from her office. The place is bathed in natural light, exudes an airy charm, and seems tailor-made for her — except for the hefty price tag. Once again, her mind wanders to Eun-sang's earlier advice about jumping on the cryptocurrency bandwagon.
Eun-sang's next entrepreneurial endeavor involves purchasing a slew of umbrellas, driven by a weather forecast predicting rain. However, fate has other plans, and the skies remain clear, leaving Eun-sang increasingly exasperated as the hours tick by. In a fit of frustration, she even attempts to engage in a heated debate with the staff at the meteorological agency, who explain that the clouds had abruptly shifted course.
At work, Ji-song finds herself in hot water with her supervisor and is compelled to put in extra hours. This development threatens to derail her travel plans, as she might miss her flight. Enter Oh Dong-gyu, who steps in to assist her in wrapping up her tasks and generously offers to chauffeur her to the airport. Alas, their journey is marred by abysmal traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, Da-hae finds herself on an excruciatingly awkward blind date with a man named Yoon-hwan. He inquires about her hobbies, and she flounders, realizing she doesn't possess any notable pastimes. Following dinner, they proceed to the music event that Ji-woo had previously urged Da-hae to attend. To Da-hae's astonishment, Ham Ji-woo takes center stage and belts out the very song she had sung during a karaoke session. He describes it as the melody that both catapulted him to stardom and marked the end of his career in one fell swoop.
In front of a captivated audience, Ji-woo, with a playful challenge in his eyes, urges Da-hae to select a song for him to perform. Caught off guard and feeling the weight of everyone's gaze, she hesitantly picks "Southbound Train," a choice that seems to echo with an air of obscurity. She sighs inwardly, regretting her inability to afford a streaming service subscription that might have broadened her musical horizons. Nevertheless, Ji-woo, undeterred, begins to play the song. In a comedic twist, he accidentally hurls his drumstick skyward, and it descends with a thud onto Yoon-hwan’s unsuspecting head.
Yoon-hwan, nursing a throbbing headache, makes his way to the hospital for a check-up. After a brief, tense exchange with Da-hae, he departs, leaving her feeling both bewildered and hurt. Once he's gone, Ji-woo, with a hint of condescension, remarks on Da-hae's questionable musical taste, advising her against publicly professing her admiration for his music. Fuming, Da-hae retorts, emphasizing that discovering true musical preferences often requires financial means. When she declares her liking for his song, she means it with every fiber of her being.
Meanwhile, at the airport, Ji-song finds herself in a predicament as she misses her flight. Manager Oh, ever the supportive figure, offers words of comfort. In an unexpected turn, he confesses his feelings for her. Ji-song, however, is unequivocal in her preference for handsome suitors. Both individuals find themselves overwhelmed by emotions, shedding tears during the journey back home.
Eun-sang, on the other hand, decides to attend her class reunion, where she is delighted to receive a complimentary set of black garlic. However, her joy is short-lived as she crosses paths with a former classmate—a woman with whom she had once planned to embark on a business venture five years prior. Circumstances had forced Eun-sang to withdraw, leaving a bitter taste in the other woman's mouth, who has harbored resentment ever since. A brief but heated argument ensues before Eun-sang retreats to her home, seeking solace in a bottle of wine and the nostalgic glow of her daughter's old videos playing on the television.
Back at her own abode, Da-hae makes a bold decision to close her savings account. With the newly acquired funds, she indulges in purchasing more Enderium. The following scene unveils Da-hae's new chapter as she moves into the apartment she had previously admired, her heart brimming with anticipation for what lies ahead.
