Flashing back to the present, Mizuha sprints to Yuki's abode, eager to ensure Fushi's well-being. Satisfied with his state, she invites him on a weekend date. Despite his looming responsibilities, he consents, with a condition that she gives him some space afterward. Together, they set out in pursuit of the Black One once more.

However, the child insists that he's powerless and urges them to confront Mimori alone. Since his transformation into a human and imbuing Fushi with the power of reconnection, his abilities have gradually waned. Bon guides them to a secluded restaurant for a confidential chat, where they hash out their strategies. Mimori's menace looms, and they're uncertain whether to focus on her or test the weaknesses of the lesser Nokkers.

Izumi suggests to Fushi that he sever Mimori's consciousness from her body, implying a beheading. This revelation rattles him slightly; though he's vanquished several Nokkers in the past, the child is unaccustomed to engaging in such gruesome battles. The Black One's reluctance to assist further prompts Fushi to shove him off his seat, eliciting an excruciating pain that emanates from the boy as he departs.

As Fushi peruses his lesson, he notices numerous mathematical errors, finding it peculiar since the hooded figure had always been adept at calculations. Yuki chimes in, suggesting that his child brain might be smaller now, and they change the topic.

The weekend arrives, and Mizuha takes Fushi on a shopping spree as they embark on their date in his usual attire. Despite enjoying the moment, he reminds himself that they're not living in tranquil times.

As they strolled down the street, an unexpected encounter interrupted their tranquil moment—Sumika's arrival. She, who shared the hooded figure's new identity of Satoru at the orphanage, was consumed by fury directed at Fushi. She had discovered his hand in pushing the child, and now her ire boiled over, seeking a confrontation. Despite Fushi's insistent laughter and his claim of knowing a darker side of the child that Sumika couldn't fathom, her anger only escalated. In a fit of frustration, he fled, shedding her grip by morphing into Mia.

This transformation served as a moment of triumph for Mia, who had long dreamt of being an art model. With Mizuha by his side, he replicated this feat for Uroy and Oopa, each gesture of camaraderie heightening his euphoria. As night fell, he expressed his gratitude to Mizuha for her assistance, immersed in a state of exhilaration.

Tonari's discovery of Fushi transformed into Oopa sent shockwaves through her heart. Though he had tried to do good, her feelings were tainted by sorrow and disgust. The loss of her true friends weighed heavily on her, making her believe that Fushi shouldn't wield such powers for personal gain.

Later that evening, Fushi journeyed to school, seeking solace as Booze Man among his peers. However, his path was intercepted by Hirotoshi, who implored him for help in saving Mimori. The request served as a stark reminder of the complexities Fushi's abilities entailed and the weight of responsibility that came with them.
