The opening scene of Episode 9 of To Your Eternity Season 3 finds Hirotoshi unveiling a startling truth: he is Mimori's brother, and he knows the truth about her existence as a Nokker. He had been tracking the creature, only discovering its true nature during their final confrontation with Fushi. Ever since, it has become a nightly tormentor, binding her to its will.

As Fushi prepares to face the Nokker, Mimori's spirit speaks, saying that she believes her home is just as it is. The Nokker brings joy to her mother, and that is all that matters to her. However, Hirotoshi refuses to accept this. He knows that her mother never truly cared for Mimori and that she shouldn't sacrifice herself for the woman. Then, he shares Mimori's story with everyone.
Initially, he hoped that someone had pushed her off the school's terrace or something similar, but he comes to realize that Mimori wanted to die. It was then that the Nokker seized the opportunity. Recently, while tracking the monster, he encountered Mimori's teacher, who gave him an essay Mimori was supposed to read to her classmates and all the parents on the day she died.
The essay spoke of how Mimori's life was perfect and how she had caring parents. She wanted to read it to her mother to see if she would realize the error in her ways. However, her mother went on a trip, leaving her alone. As Mimori's spirit hears this story, she weeps, and everyone feels empathy for her. But at that moment, the Nokker appears, urging Hirotoshi to return home.
It argues that bringing Mimori back to life would not make things better; in fact, it would only add more responsibilities to her plate. But Hirotoshi vows to shoulder all of them himself. Then, he grabs a sword with Fushi to face the monster, ready to do whatever it takes to set things right.
However, he could not withstand a moment against the Nokker, and it effortlessly snatched his sword. Then, it was the monster's turn to reveal Mimori's story, for it had been following her for a longer time.
Mimori initially believed her life was fine, even though her mother never showed any concern for her. Over time, she began to think that others' lives were better. One day, during a school event, she deliberately hurt herself to see if her mother would care. However, the woman never picked up any of the calls from the hospital, leaving the girl to return home alone, tired and with a broken arm. Even after seeing her, the mother didn't care about her well-being. In fact, the only thing that made her react differently was the hospital bills, which made her furious at Mimori. When the child cried at night, she even told her to be quiet.
That's when the Nokker entered her body. Its objective was world peace, so it helped Mimori by absorbing her stress. But it was a twisted type of peace, so it didn't help the girl when she jumped off to her death. The Nokker laughs, saying it is always in favor of death.
The Nokker returns the sword to Hirotoshi and gestures for him to fight again. From then on, it beats and tortures Hirotoshi in various ways in front of everyone. Still, Bon says they shouldn't interfere. As it starts ripping off Hirotoshi's hair and prepares to deliver the fatal blow, Mimori finally acts. She shouts that she wants to live, and Bon throws the sword into the Nokker's neck.
However, the Nokker soon gets up and takes Hirotoshi hostage. But to their surprise, another girl appears and cuts off its head. Then, she burns it, killing the creature. She reveals herself to be a Nokker as well and tells Fushi that, in that moment, they are enemies. However, that other Nokker had already achieved its objective, so it had no reason to live anymore.
The next day, they take Hirotoshi to a hospital, and Fushi resuscitates Mimori. The girl reunites with her brother, both crying tears of joy. After that, Aoki tells Fushi that the other Nokker was someone from his school.
