In the sixth episode of "Tracker," Colter Shaw embarks on a thrilling hunt for Argo, a highly prized racehorse, amidst the bustling backdrop of Lexington, Kentucky. The case takes a mysterious turn when Hugh Lazlo, Argo's partial owner and caretaker, hints at the possibility of his ex-wife, Tina, being involved in the horse's disappearance. The intricate pattern of the abduction hints at the handiwork of professionals.

Adding further complexity to the mystery is the revelation that Tina's new beau, Redford James, owns the horse that is Argo's sworn rival. The approaching Lexington Cup, mere days away, suggests a potential race-related motive behind the kidnapping.

Tracker – Season 1 Episode 6 1

Colter's investigation takes an unexpected turn when he unexpectedly encounters Billie, a former partner and colleague, at Hugh's residence. The two find themselves in a competitive race to locate Argo first and claim the glory. In his quest for fresh leads, Colter attends a glitzy gala hosted by Tina and Redford, rubbing elbows with two more of Argo's owners, Stuart and Kenji. However, his true intentions lie in snooping around the house in search of tangible clues.

Hugh believes that the missing pedigree papers of Argo are the smoking gun pointing to Tina and Redford's involvement. But as Colter searches for the papers, he stumbles upon Billie in the same room. Their search yields no results, leading them to reluctantly team up, despite Colter's lingering doubts stemming from a past betrayal by Billie.

Billie's meticulous investigation rules out Redford as a suspect due to his pre-kidnapping bets on the race. After scrutinizing the crime scene, Colter deduces that a single individual is responsible for the abduction. Signs indicate that Argo was forcibly ridden away, although Hugh remains skeptical given the horse's notoriously stubborn nature.

Suspicion falls on Dan Flynn, a professional trainer who nurtured Argo during his formative years, due to his longstanding grudge against Hugh. When the duo investigates Flynn's residence, they stumble upon a grisly discovery - his lifeless body. Flynn was murdered on the night of the kidnapping. Colter finds a syringe in the fields adjacent to Flynn's house, hinting that he might have been hired for the job. His desperate need for money, exacerbated by his firing from Lazlo due to consistent on-the-job drinking, provides a plausible motive.

Billie doggedly traced the tranquillizer used to lull Argo into a sedated state. She made her way to Dr. Glenn's office, where she uncovered a shocking revelation: Glenn and Hugh had been administering steroids to Argo prior to each race. This barbaric treatment had rendered Argo infertile and unfit for breeding, stripping him of his natural vitality.

As they returned to Flynn's barn, a sinister attempt was made to torch the premises and eliminate them. Billie and Colter narrowly escaped the flames, realizing that the owners themselves might have orchestrated the kidnapping to collect the insurance money. Argo's incompetence in competing would have eventually been exposed, and they were determined to uncover the truth.

Bobby uncovered another disturbing piece of the puzzle: Stuart had been funneling money into bets for the race through shadowy shell companies. He had also purchased a secluded parcel of land intended for grazing. The pair ventured to the site the following morning and found Argo, but their jubilation was short-lived. Before Colter could spirit him away, Stuart discovered their plan and trained his gun on Billie.

Stuart confessed to everything under duress, revealing that he had been bribing Glenn to secretly inject Argo before each race. It turned out that Stuart had been the mastermind behind the entire scheme, manipulating everyone for his own gain.

In the end, Argo was reunited with his unsuspecting parents, who were blissfully unaware of the steroids and the sordid scheme that had unfolded around their beloved horse.
