In the present, Rafael's heroic act of saving a despairing child from a leap of despair catapults him into the headlines. Silvia, who has been searching for him, finds solace in their reunion. However, her joy is tempered when she discovers his penchant for celebrating Arruda's demise. She believes that Rafael would be better off in Santa Maria, though he cherishes his newfound freedom.

Meanwhile, Silvia and Eduardo's drug operation is running smoothly with Orlando's deft handling. They enlist Ian's aid in acquiring a gig as a photographer and waiter at a wedding, using it as a cover to peddle their wares to every attendee. However, chaos ensues when the cops arrive, and Frias is hot on their trail. In a fateful turn of events, a photo catches Eduardo in the background, further complicating matters.

Ian remains unimpressed with Eduardo's antics and is displeased when Orlando calculates their earnings and offers them a measly 500 euros as their cut. Bruna finds herself under her father's tight watch to prevent her from relapsing into addiction. She works at a nursing home and is constantly tested for her sobriety. Orlando urges Silvia to grow up and take charge of the business, securing her first proper client - Mike, a charismatic cult leader.

Elsewhere, Carlos runs out of his American pain meds, which are nothing more than opioids. He becomes jittery and crosses paths with Father Antonio, who expresses concern but Carlos dismisses him as insincere. In a desperate bid for relief, Carlos strikes a deal with a chemist who extends him credit for the opioids.

Eduardo's journey in the tuna factory takes a dark turn as he feels the weight of solitude pressing down upon him. His search for companionship leads him to Bruna, and a date that serves as a much-needed escape from the monotony of his life. They dine and dash, their footsteps echoing through the abandoned streets, before daring to break into a deserted theater, their laughter echoing off the walls. Eduardo's comparison to the Gremlins from the movie is a testament to his growing discontent, but his hands are tied—drug trafficking is the only means to escape and start anew. Bruna, understanding his plight, finds solace in his company.

Meanwhile, Rafael's PTSD from Arruda's attempts on his life weigh heavily on him. But restlessness seeps into his veins, and he decides it's time to return home.

Cut to Silvia and Carlos, sharing an intimate moment. She announces her pregnancy, her words a mix of hope and fear as she promises to be there for him through the turmoil he finds himself in.

Detective Banha advises Frias to drop the case, lacking leads, but Frias refuses, undaunted even when her daughter Mariana arrives in town, disdaining her stepmother's influence. Frias books her a flight back to Lisbon, insisting it's not safe, but Mariana remains unswayed, her disdain for her stepmother evident in every word.

As Mike's summit approaches on Sao Miguel Island, Silvia enlists Carlos, Ian, and Eduardo with VIP passes and a quick meeting with Mike courtesy of Orlando. Silvia and Eduardo are tasked with bringing the sample, while Carlos is to deliver the actual package after the deal is made. As they part ways, Carlos loses his pass—a mishap that will have far-reaching consequences.

The summit day arrives, everyone in place except Carlos, denied entry due to his lost pass. Ian attempts to bring the package inside but is distracted by a group of female followers hosting a private party. The cocaine is passed around, and their heedless indulgence sets the stage for a night of reckoning that will echo through the island's quiet streets.

Carlos, his badge stolen and hastily arrived, finds the meeting with Eduardo, Silvia, and Mike already underway. The deal is accepted, but Ian is nowhere to be found. Eduardo rushes out to manage the situation, lashing out at Carlos for his opioid-induced haze. They locate Ian and ingeniously mix the cocaine with protein powder to maintain the volume, a moment of quiet brilliance amidst the chaos.

Meanwhile, Frias arrives at Joe's abode, informing him that Eduardo is dealing once again. Despite familial loyalty, they must draw a line. Joe shows no outward signs of betrayal but is visibly troubled once she leaves.

The deal edges towards success, Mike oblivious to any malfeasance. The sale is made, and Eduardo, Silvia, Ian, and Carlos celebrate with relief. Silvia confides that she sees her deceased father and that she loves Eduardo but their relationship is forbidden. They smile sadly, accepting their reality with resignation.

Joe, however, is furious that he continues to risk himself for Eduardo who plays with fire. Tired of Eduardo's bad decisions and his obsessive quest for the USA, he warns his nephew that once he enters the world of drugs, he will never be able to escape.

The scene shifts to Monti living in a trailer. Joe bribes the prison guard, Morcela, who ferries him to Monti. Joe informs Monti that he wants the real owners to take all the drugs away.

As the credits roll on Turn of the Tide Season 2 Episode 2, we see the Colombian drug lord laughing as he burns the rival gang alive.
