The third episode of Turn of the Tide Season 2 opens with Bonino's unfortunate return to prison, only to be met with a violent end at the hands of the mafia for disrupting their drug smuggling operation. Meanwhile, Frias, determined to make a difference, employs a tactic of intimidation towards Eduardo, even though she lacks concrete evidence of his involvement. She offers him a choice: come clean and expose the true culprits or face imprisonment for his alleged crimes. Her mention of his deceased father evokes a sense of guilt in him.

Turn of the Tide – Season 2 Episode 3 1

Rafael's journey back to Rabo de Peixe is marked by his efforts to maintain sobriety, attending AA meetings and running into Carlos, who brings a ray of joy into his life. Eduardo, on the other hand, continues his wayward path with Bruna, unaware of the depths she has sunk to after he left for the United States. Her mother's rejection and her reckless partying led to her car crash; Banha's intervention saved her, but now she owes him a debt.

Frias delves deeper into Bonino's demise, retracing his steps and uncovering Morcelo's assistance with Monti, who has now gone missing. The sudden disappearance of key players hints at the arrival of the real owners. We then shift to Ofelia, a Brazilian woman visiting Orlando and boasting about her Portuguese heritage, her grandfather having been taken as a slave to Brazil. She worked tirelessly to build a life for herself and now holds sway over Monti and Fagner, the "Colombian druglord" we've encountered earlier, who serves as her lackey and is holding Orlando's assistant hostage.

Joe warns Eduardo that the druglord has arrived to reclaim his drugs. However, Eduardo chooses to confront them at the club, where he reunites briefly with Rafael before they must flee. But Ofelia and her men have other plans, kidnapping them all and preparing to execute them for their perceived betrayal. The Brazilians tie up Orlando, Ian, Carlos, Silvia, and Rafael, and their Azorean counterparts try to negotiate with Silvia, even revealing her pregnancy in an attempt to save their lives. Finally, Eduardo steps up and boasts about their expertise in navigating the treacherous seas, promising to safely transport Ofelia's drugs from South America to Portugal.

Ofelia's client's brief layover in Santa Maria presents a challenge: Eduardo must sail there within three hours to deliver a shipment of cocaine. After she departs, Fagnar adds more conditions, with Silvia and Orlando now tasked with eliminating Monti for screwing up the deal. Eduardo and Rafael embark on the journey, but Rafael suffers from PTSD while boarding the boat, resulting in him snorting some of the cocaine and breaking his sobriety. Ian and Carlos are held as hostages, with Ian finally realizing that Carlos has become a pill popper and advising him against joining the 27 Club of rock stars who all died at 27.

Elsewhere, we see Bruna as the primary nurse for her grandmother, Rosa, who is as brutal as her daughter but also cares deeply for Bruna. On the sea, Rafael talks about being a father, naming the child after Eduardo's father and appointing Eduardo as godfather. Eduardo's revelation that he slept with Silvia fills him with guilt and annoyance, leading to a physical altercation that ends with Eduardo begging for forgiveness and they eventually patch things up.

Meanwhile, Orlando continues to manipulate Silvia, claiming she needs to kill Monti for her child's sake. Monti makes a run for it, and although Silvia misses her shot, he falls off the cliff into the sea below. Fagnar doesn't understand Ofelia's decision to give the Azoreans a chance, but she explains that she doesn't want anyone to end up like her grandfather and believes the kids can be a valuable asset. He disagrees and is even disrespectful, leading to a slap from Ofelia. After completing the delivery, she tells Eduardo and Rafael that they are to sell the remaining 292 kgs of cocaine as well.

Carlos and Ian are finally allowed to leave, and Rafael crashes at Silvia's place. He comments on how he hates that she cheated on him with his best friend. As the episode ends, it's clear that said best friend is up to no good. Eduardo looks wary as he meets someone in the woods - is it Frias?
