The narrative then shifts to the present, where chaos reigns at a train station. Demons swarm the angels, their numbers and ferocity overwhelming. Geum-soon’s condition rapidly declines, each passing moment edging her closer to the brink. In a desperate bid for strength, Do-ni consumes the tonic, his body flushing crimson as an immense surge of power courses through him. Mal-sook watches, both mesmerized and anxious, as Do-ni valiantly battles the demonic horde.

Meanwhile, the others rally to shield Mal-rok and Geum-soon, though their efforts prove futile against the relentless onslaught. It is only when Tae-san arrives, a beacon of hope, that the tide begins to turn. With a display of unmatched prowess, he vanquishes the demons, allowing the angels to retreat to safety.

Back at their sanctuary, tranquility is shattered as Samin and his minions launch a surprise attack, overpowering Bang-wool and seizing Mirr as a hostage. By the time the angels return, it is already too late. They discover Bang-wool unconscious and Mirr nowhere to be found. Do-ni, delving into Bang-wool’s mind, relays the harrowing events to the team.

Tae-san, fueled by fury and determination, is eager to pursue Samin. However, Mal-rok implores him for patience. The group quickly reaches a consensus: their priority must be saving Geum-soon. After examining her, Bang-wool delivers a grim prognosis—Geum-soon’s wound, inflicted by a demon, is beyond the reach of mortal medicine. Won-seung proposes a drastic measure: opening the hellmouth to reclaim their lost powers. But Mal-rok vehemently opposes, fearing the catastrophic consequences that such an act might unleash.

Amidst the turmoil, Bang-wool tirelessly works to sustain Geum-soon’s fragile life. Meanwhile, Ogwi experiences a sudden, piercing headache as he draws nearer to Samin’s hideout. As he inches closer, he spots Mirr lying motionless, her presence a silent beacon. Later, Mirr drifts into a dream, revisiting a past memory where she desperately tries to save someone dear to her. Samin intrudes, lulling her back into slumber, and carries her to the heart of the cave. There, Ogwi awaits, poised to commence a sinister ritual.

A while later, a storm of emotions brews as Mal-rok abruptly storms off, leaving without a word to anyone. Won-seung, ever the optimist, assumes Mal-rok has merely headed off to work, oblivious to the fact that the latter has already resigned from the force. When Won-seung shares this assumption with the others, they collectively decide to bide their time, waiting for Mal-rok to return and explain his abrupt departure. However, Won-seung, unable to contain his concern, confides in Tae-san that Mal-rok has vanished.

Tae-san, lost in thought, recalls his earlier conversation with Mal-rok, where the latter had expressed a desperate need for time to devise a plan to save Mirr. A realization dawns upon Tae-san—Mal-rok has embarked on a solitary quest to find Samin. Seized by urgency, he and Won-seung rush off, leaving the rest of the group bewildered, their minds racing with questions about the unfolding drama.

Meanwhile, deep within the confines of a cavernous hideaway, Samin and Ogwi harness the mystical energy of the three soul stones, combined with Mirr’s formidable powers, to awaken the latent abilities of Hae-tae. The ritual unfolds flawlessly, but as Ogwi reaches out to grasp the stone, a flood of memories surges back—memories of his profound connection with Mirr. Overwhelmed, he collapses, and Samin, seizing the moment, steps in to complete the ritual. Without hesitation, Samin claims Hae-tae’s powers for himself, instantly reverting to a youthful, unblemished version of his former self.

Outside the cave, Mal-rok employs his formidable powers to breach the dark barrier. Alas, his arrival coincides with the ritual’s climax, disrupting it just as it nears completion. Driven by curiosity, Mal-rok questions Samin about his miraculous survival. The little demons, sensing an intruder, launch a ferocious attack, but Mal-rok, with a spectre of immense power, repels them effortlessly. In the heat of battle, Mal-rok wields his sceptre to create clones of himself, engaging the horde of demons in a dazzling display of combat.

Samin, observing from a distance, attempts to discern the real Mal-rok amidst the chaos. Once he identifies the genuine article, he springs into action with the speed of lightning, driving his sword deep into Mal-rok’s flesh and forcing him to the ground. It is then that Mal-rok comprehends the full extent of Samin’s actions—he has awakened Hae-tae’s soul and usurped its powers.

Simultaneously, Ogwi awakens from his slumber, his gaze fixated on Mirr as a torrent of memories washes over him. In a flash of revelation, the truth emerges: Mirr had yearned to save Ogwi during that fateful night of battle. Yet, Tae-san, consumed by vengeance for his lost family, had stood in the way, determined to end Ogwi’s life. Mal-rok, intervening in the chaos, had erased the couple’s memories of each other. But his retribution didn't end there; he had cursed Ogwi to an eternity in hell, devoid of any recollection of Mirr—a punishment far worse than death.

The episode concludes with Ogwi gazing at Mirr, his face etched with a sorrowful expression, the weight of forgotten love and lost time hanging heavy in the air.
